That's a good piece of art

If you count it is at least 11-12 brush strokes. Maybe took 5 minutes. At $200 per? That comes out to like $4,000,000 dollars an hour, right?

Since you are part of "we", then you would know if you knew.

No, we don't know that. I mean they may have, I hope they haven't. He's not really a good representative, even some of his own UFD peeps didn't want him on board. But regardless of if they did or didn't, it's foolish to not think with his level of involvement with everything that his words don't carry great weight. They're not the words of CCP from a different mouth (although they could be) but they're close by and CCP I imagine aren't stepping in to stop him.

You just aren't as great or as funny as you think you are. Don't take it personal, it's just an opinion of mine.

I got down repped a few days ago for begging for reps. I've learned my lesson and will retreat with my tail between my legs and hold on to the few remaining sweet points I have left like a man/mouse.

Back on topic, whatever the relationship with their fanbase is at the moment I'm pretty excited for the announcement on Monday because I'm still a fan despite all the kidding around.

I think there's a lot we can learn about Eskimo culture through the medium of music and Live are just the people to do it. Bring it on

Folks, this is not the news we want to hear but take it as you wish. sad.gif
My deep seated feelings of Ed since 2002 are in fact true. Frontman ego's rip apart bands.

Not the ending I wished for

November 30, 2009, 3 hours ago | There have been tons of crazy rumors surrounding the hiatus of LIVE. I have read quite a few and laughed at the extremely creative imaginations of our fans. I've been reluctant to fan the flames but the rumors are getting further away from the truth and I will try to set the record straight from my standpoint.

First and foremost, Ed has every legal right to perform the songs he helped birth while being the front man for LIVE. The copyrights for these songs are owned by Chad Gracey, Patrick Dahlheimer, Ed Kowlalczyk and myself. Ed does not control the catalog but rather the bands publishing company, Black Coffee Publishing, Inc. Black Coffee is a majority rule corporation.

Yes, it is true, there was a hidden publishing contract singed in 2005. I personally discovered it via a communication breakdown. Ed is listed as the only signature. When I wrote him to find some resolution to the situation, he failed to respond. I have left these matters to our attorneys who will no doubt file a complaint. Honestly, I don't care about the financial/legal outcome of these matters, the proof is on the page. Ed was able to stab his three best friends from middle school in the back. This act was far down the line from typical rock star ego. As you can imagine I am deeply hurt and wounded.

In light of these matter, I can't ever see myself working with Ed, let alone ever being in the same room with him. LIVE was always about the band, when Ed lost sight of that in favor of his own ambitions and goals, our considerable fans base began to sigh a collective yawn.

As band mates and friends and despite the lack of fresh material we continued to support Ed with all of our integrity. The final blow was Ed's request for a $100,000 "lead singer bonus" to perform as surprise guests at this years Pink Pop Festival. I was informed of his request by our management and politely told them to "fuck off."

Ed will no longer be the vocalist for the band LIVE. At this point in time, we have made no official plans to replace him but it is clear that he is no friend of mine or the lifelong fans of LIVE.

I have focused my energy on creating new music with The Gracious Few. I look forward to seeing many LIVE fans in the audience at our shows. Patrick, Chad and I have made a pledge to honor our long shared history with the fans of LIVE. You will always be graciously welcome in our house.

Love
Chad Taylor

"Warm bodies I sense
Are not machines that can only make money..."

Seems kind of ironic that this lyric is from one of their most beloved songs on LIVE's most successful album. I've been a fan of LIVE somewhere between the release of Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi and have never looked back. It's taken me a while, but I've read through all 15 pages of this thread and I've got to tell you, it's troubling. It's troubling in a good way because it's got me thinking. While tempers might be a little short, and keyboards might be a little too quick at times, the questions posed here are still valid ones I believe. To be honest, the love I have for LIVE has actually blinded me to these questions, but no longer.

For me, after reading these 15 pages, it's like not being able to enjoy my favorite drink after I know somebody has spit in it even though it still tastes great.

With this announcement looming and after reading jayda's post, I have to say I'm partly agreeing with them. I almost hope it's announcing their retirement from the music industry, so they can retain what dignity they have left, maybe with SOME explanation of what happened with Ed, and move on with their lives OUT of the public's eye so they DON'T have to answer to us. However, with some answers in hand, I think that would go a long way.

To speak on the Chris comments, 100% out of place here. I agree with everyone defending him referring to his contributions on the Turn and his live performances. That DID take guts to step in and replace someone as loved and as ensconced into LIVE as Ed.

It's a shame that after such a great musical career that literally spanned the globe started by 4 kids from Anytown USA, it's all come down to name calling and animosity...if you did it, ya did it, period.

I hope they're not retiring. I'm all in for new music, and shows.
