There's nothing much interesting about it unfortunately. Bill is a company man, he'll do and say whatever needs to be said and spin whatever needs to be spun. It's painfully obvious that Live is doing some spring cleaning on their own history. Rewriting what they can. Easier to avoid/change the narrative than get into the messy stuff. I would take anything that is said with the biggest grain of salt given that the number one goal here is to protect the integrity of CCP and now Ed. Easier to get people's money that way! But I get it, they want a clean break from the past. Just to white wash everything and start anew. That's admirable in its own way, but you can do it without the spin.

But again, seeing as this is a thread about the NYE party, I hope Bill extends an invite to Nick seeing as apparently all along Nick was right and Ed is an absolutely stand up guy. It would be the only decent thing to do to make it up to Nick for spending so long telling him how wrong he was about everything.

If it's a fact that Ed never stole anything then that only strengthens my argument that CCP offer the fans some kind of explanation at some point. As I've said before (on FB if not here), to offer nothing would be insulting to the fans and completely ridiculous. Hopefully this countdown leads to a relaunch of the site with a message/explanation reintroducing Ed, and maybe a new song at the same time. Or the countdown turns into an embedded YouTube video of New City...

At the time I made that statement I had a limited amount of information and should never have said that. Emotions sometimes get the best of people.
This was not the case, and I have apologized to the one person that deserves that apology.
I even went to his solo show in Bethlehem, PA earlier this year. Amazing show!

Haha oh we are playing the "technically..." game now. There was the whole black coffee deal. But even if he didn't (he heavily implied it if nothing else), Bill certainly said so:

CCP wanted at least 2.6 million bucks even though Ed supposedly only owed 225 thousand, plus whatever little money from recordings sold on Ed's website. That and because they believed Levin and Ed were no longer acting in CCP's interest.

Seems like a huge stretch asking for that much money, 225k vs 2.6 mil. Also, Kind of petty to have Ed give up $ for those crap recordings that probably made barely any profit.

In response, Ed and Levin claimed that CCP were fully aware of every contract agreement involved with Ed, including the previous million dollar advance, and that CCP fully knew that they were not entitled to any of that advance, but that Ed gave them money anyway.

So based on all this, I have no idea whether Ed stole technically or by your definition of theft. Completely conflicting arguments and I don't trust CCP or Ed. Who knows what Bill is even privy to with regards to Live.

It's all very murky, and now I suspect it is intentionally so - if it's all messy then it's easier to just wipe it all clean, call it even, say no one was really wrong and get on with the business of making money together. Bill has a vested interest in everything being smooth and playing happy families. He's biased from the start so you can only take what he says with a grain of salt because of course he's going to spin it. But it's insane to think he and CCP spent so long ripping on Ed publicly and privately and then just "oops we were wrong, all good lol". I mean, you're either dealing with utter incompetence and stupidity or it's lying about things now which is dodgy as fuck when it's the band of love and spirit and we love our fans etc etc. I mean who knows what definition of "stole nothing" really means. CCP got more in the settlement than Ed actually stole/acquired unlawfully and thus we'll just say he never stole in the first place? Maybe.

Either way, it's definitely damaged integrity of the band in both sides to me now. Couldn't trust Ed as far as you could throw him and now CCP too. People can crow on about how close to the band they are but that is meaningly when you're either too incompetent for anyone to believe you or you just lie anyways.

I've been to the last LIVE show with Ed at Westbury NY, I've been to Ed's solo show at the casino and I've been to the last two LIVE shows.

The performances and energy of the last two shows blow away the Last one with Ed and his solo show.

News flash. He isn't suppose to sound like Ed and when you hear the new album it will blow away that bullshit that Ed just posted on his page.

Ok, I havent been on here in a long time because I was busy enjoying the great music of The Gracious Few.

However, now that they are taking a little break and doing some LIVE stuff, I figured I would pop my head in.
Man, some of the crap I have read.

Chad Taylor, Chad Gracey & Patrick Dahlheimer are all class acts! Everything they have said is 100% truthful.
They didnt immediately go and file a lawsuit. They tried to speak with Ed, many times and Ed hid. After getting no answers from him on what was found, the only way to get them is in court. Look at any interview with Ed when he is asked about the allegations and he squirms like a little bitch! He was so thrown off in a few interviews you could tell and see it in his face.
Where they just suppose to let someone screw them over like that and do nothing?
What would you or anyone have done. In any business there has to be accounability. He didnt want to answer for his actions or make them right. So now he will have no choice.

I mean, I can see why you want to leave it in the past now that you gotta eat all your words and this dude you painted as the devil is now back in and you gotta smooth everything over in order to make more money, but man..
