So, if Live does end up touring again with Ed...

Do you think he will perform the songs of The Turn? It'd sure be a shame if he didn't, as I really enjoy those songs.

It would also give a chance for us Shinn fans, to talk smack about Ed "ruining the lyrics" or "not sounding good"

I'd be very surprised, to be honest. By the same token, it would seem only fair to me that Ed doesn't wedge any solo material in there. Either they both get one (Sirens Call and.... Zion, maybe?) or none at all. Probably the latter.

I think the chances of this happening are extremely slim. As has been said elsewhere on this board, its more likely that they just pretend it never happened.

It is a shame, because I think I would like to hear Ed's take on a couple of those songs.

How about this, there's been a lot of chatter about Live re-recording MJ, what if they just re-recorded The Turn with Ed? No better way to pretend the Shinn album never happened than re-doing it with Ed.

Again, no possibility of this happening, but it would be interesting if it did.

I'd say no, and I also hope no. Don't need Ed ruining those songs. Siren's Call doesn't need hip swiveling and American Idol vocals.

I would guess they do not do anything off The Turn. Not taking a swipe at him, but Ed just can't do those songs.

I guess they could maybe do Natural Born Killers but even the end of it would wreak havoc on Ed.

Say what you want about Shinn, but he brought back the angst and grit that we heard in the voice of 90's Ed. I do not remember the entire set list from when I saw Shinn in concert but I remember thinking "How can his voice hold up doing these songs for an entire tour?" Even the less taxing songs he would add that growl to it, where Ed quit doing that long ago (STD a good example).

While I think Ed could give The Turn a good effort, I do not think he could sustain it for an entire tour especially if Live does get a little louder and Ed has to sing Stage or whatever. Adding songs off The Turn would be a lot for him.

Given the music of some, if not all the songs have been written as a band and that The Turn has been released under the Live moniker, then I think they should. They are Live songs! And we all know Ed's got the voice for them.

Lol at this being directly below a post where World Dreamer explains how Ed probably couldn't hack it.

In some ways it might be interesting to see what Ed could do with them. But if he's singing Sirens Call, gets to "I count the ways you turn me on" and starts gyrating, I'll have to slap him.

It wouldn't be Ed if he didn't. He was doing that as early as the SS tour ("you wrap your legs around me").

Seems he has been getting bashed on a regular basis here without this.

Ed or Shinn? Because I scrolled through quite a few posts of people going after Shinn.

Ed. They both get bashed obviously. Read the post above yours, it explains the answer to your question.

Posts don't matter unless I post them. Especially if they are from Pokey.

I mentioned SS then quoted TDTH. It was bothering me, but my point was still valid.

I disagree.

While Ed did do provocative movements during lines like "you wrap your legs around me" way back in the day, he also started doing those same stupid movements pretty much every song whether it warranted it or not.

Combine that with slowly unbuttoning his shirt during "Run to the Water" (I witnessed this) it became pretty ridiculous.

There are a lot of parallels between LIVE & another fave band of mine...Mötley Crüe. Yes, they are both so extremely different, but it's too weird how much they truly have in common. Mötley broke up and replaced Vince Neil with John Corabi for an album (1994). John was SO different from Vince. Vince comes back and you think they asked him to sing Corabi's "Hooligan's Holiday"? Uh, no way. no.gif Same for asking Ed to sing songs off The Turn. --It ain't gonna happen, people!
