Wouldn't that be the ultimate compromise? "Ok Ed, you can sing the songs you want to sing and we'll play the songs we want to play ... at the same time". So you get them opening with the Lakini's Juice riff while Ed la da da da's the river over the top of it.

I don't even know how CCP could back that up as a band. Maybe it would be a really sick song if rock music was actually included in it. But it for sure would confuse the hell out of people and be quite amusing.

I'm actually listening to the Unplugged '95 show now and thinking...man it would be cool to mix it up and do some acoustic songs mixed in with the high-energy electric songs during a show...or, even an all acoustic show of rarities/older stuff (even Public Affection songs?). I've seen bands do this mixed in at one show, for example Dave Matthews/Pearl Jam, where they opened with a short acoustic set, then went into the full electric/full band set.

I would think, taking time to methodically think this out and taking baby steps, that the first few shows would be focused on 25th Anniversary of Mental Jewelry. Who knows? It'll be interesting to see how the first few shows come about and the prospect of new music.

I can't wait!!

You know what, that actually makes me smile. Was browsing round youtube last night and came across Live playing Deep Enough somewhere live. And Ed goes: "This next song is for the ladies. Deep enough, you know what I mean". Man, things his says sometimes are so bizarre.

It'll be interesting if they start with Operation Spirit, to be fair. Because within a couple minutes you might learn something very telling about where they're headed. That is to say, will Ed still spin the lyrics?

The way he started changing the lyrics of this song is for me one of the most disgusting and unforgivable things anyone in the band has ever done. It's absolutely putrid. Easily, by far and away a million times worse than Chris forgetting a few lyrics. I'd rather listen to Chris fumble a hundred lyrics than have to suffer through Ed shitting in my face with his Jesus love. Either stick to the original spirit of the song, or fuck the fuck off.
