I know you are a huge fan of Shinn Pokester, but i would say among all fans of +Live+ it's 90% at least in favor of Ed over Shinn.

So? Doesn't affect me. Plenty of people can still be wrong about things. Just look at what charts in popular music these days tongue.gif

And I mean yes, it's the minority. Hell it was always going to be the minority. But I refuse to believe that makes Shinn bad. I also refuse to believe that is why The Turn failed (CCP can thank themselves for that, although it was never going to take the world by storm). And even so, with as a small a sample as we have here, Chris has 25% of the vote, which isn't 90% to Ed. And even if it was, I really don't care. I'm happy that Chris helped me have an amazing few years again with Live and am sad to see it come to an end. And am sad to see him not get the recognition he deserves due to a lot of bias. But, I guess that's the way it is. Often people can't see quality when it smacks them in the face. Again, look at the quality of entertainment, be it music, TV, movies etc that people gobble up.

Moving forward I'm not going to be judging Ed's performance against Chris, (that wouldn't be fair to Ed tongue.gif) as it's pointless really. It'll be just judging Ed (and CCP's) performance on its own volition. Which I suspect will be bad but we'll see. This is really only being brought up here I think because the question is directly asking for comparisons between the two.

Shinn was capable of gaining fans when he was on. In 2 of the 3 shows I went with him fronting, he did that pretty well. And one of these shows was in front of 10-12000 people. They played Siren's Call without any backing tracks with passion and rawness. It was a solid kickoff song! Through the set he was entertaining with the crowd. He improved in that area during his time with Live.

His flaws were important, I agree, lyrics and all, but I still vote for him for the agression, the feeling he helped CCP to revive in some way and let the music also have its fair place in the show. They were loud!

I agree with this. I listen to Alive all the time, and I haven't listened to The Turn in months.

Ok no need to troll now though tongue.gif

But no really this is why there is always going to be some unrest in the fan base. If people legit prefer the sound of Alive, somehow, over The Turn and others are vice versa it's clear we are never all quite going to get what we want. The fear now is that if Live try to find middle ground to suit everyone it'll just be an awkward, bland, compromised mess as opposed to being genuinely one or the other. If they genuinely went one way or the other they might at least have a settled fan base to cater to. It's the same as movies not knowing who their audience really is and it ends up a mess

Yes, and I said using the snapshot we had here as a very rough sample. And then where do you draw the line on "fans". Are people who only know the songs on Awake fans, or do you count casual fans who likely weren't even aware Chris wasn't the original guy (as some people at the show I went to were shocked to find out). In the end, it's sort of pointless quantifying it with numbers. How many people pick one but don't really care? Either way, we know the end result. Live subbed out Chris for Ed. For better or worse. spoiler: its worse tongue.gif
