Generally I agree with that. Hence I am happy to disagree with people etc but I am definitely not being drawn into any more shit slinging fights which get personal. Both sides were embarrassing in that regard.

But that's right, and that's sort of to my point where I find myself losing respect for CCP. After they pumped up this new direction and how bad things used to be and all that and then, yeah.

I find it funny though, people on this board who used to be all over CCP are now back to being their biggest fans because they're with Ed again. That's where I find it hard to blindly put my faith anywhere. There are fanboys on both sides and as much as a huge CCP supporter as I was, I never considered myself a fanboy because I was perfectly happy to rip on them for things I didn't agree with - this is certainly one of them.

So talking about respect, to me, if they can somehow, against all odds, pull out some musical work with Ed which blows me away - respect re-earned.

And yeah I have to point out, no they don't give a shit whether they have my respect. No they don't "owe" me certain music or whatever else people want to jump up and down about.
Quite simply, I do not respect Ed anymore, and haven't for a long time - both him personally and his artistic abilities. And CCP going backwards is dragging them into that. So, its an uphill battle. And that's just my opinion/POV.

Those things mean nothing. In some instances, a high post count just means you said a lot of things. It doesn't mean any of them ever made sense.

Thats part of the reason why I preferred starting again, so many of those posts were part of that shit storm most of us were involved in and yeah, best just left away. I'm more embarrassed than anything of such a big post count.

Well, not yourself. But I agree with some of your points with regard to what CT was talking about in the interview. There appears to be a bit of a revisionist history going on. Almost feels like we might be getting what politicians often do - just outright continue to sprout stuff that is contrary to things that have actually happened and if you say it enough, with enough conviction and ignore everything else then eventually some people just begin to accept the new version of events.

I sort of get South Park Saddam vibes of "hey its cool guy relax everything's fine!" just carry on like nothing happened. I wonder if thats why they decided to go really low key with this rather than making the big announcement.

I'll have to go back and listen again, its a bit late now. But did Chad say something about how he, Pat and CAG playing as a band for Zoe was the first time they have done that for someone other than Ed? I might have heard that wrong but it sounded pretty suss when you consider Kevin and Chris. Maybe there was other context there.

Still, if I could pick one positive out of the whole thing it is back to that point that Ed used the collective "we". I really hated when he would say "I" when you knew damn well it wasn't the truth. That was encouraging.

I think he meant backed as in he was in a studio backing a solo artist. Cue the jokes about SFBM, but I remember Chad once saying he wanted to back Katy Perry (or some pop artist) and let them play with a great band, the way American HiFi backs Miley Cyrus. I think backed in the context means something very different than TGF of CCCP, which was being in a band versus providing backing music to a solo artist.

He said one of the first times other than being Ed's accompanists.

So that may sound like he's speaking in the context of being part of a band.

...Unless Chad was referring to the later years, and is trying to say that being with Ed was akin to being a backup band, which many would argue was true. I am not sure that Chad was taking this position though.

I was pointing out to no one in particular that vivapokey is pokey in case no one knew because some people here only have a couple of hundred posts so they may not know who certain people are, and I quoted the person I did merely to convey this point and (tried) to do it in a humorous way, because in reality to equate post count to the amount of respect deserved is obviously retarded but... ahh forget it, lawyer man.
