Yeah, when she referred to them as "half of the band Live" they said nothing. And it wasn't in passing or quickly - she said it clearly and left plenty of time for them to respond. Considering only a few years ago they were in court about Ed claiming he was "of Live" or "formerly of Live" - not correcting the DJ is basically an admission.

I mean - if Chris Shinn was the lead singer - don't you think they'd say something? I can't say for sure there's some kind of reunion until they do, but what else could be happening?

Random speculation here: Ed comes back but others are leaving. Are we sure everyone's on board with a reunion?

I'm going with 99.99999999999999% sure.

Why is everyone assuming that CCP are crawling back to Ed? Maybe Ed is crawling back to them.

Maybe they all laid off the crack pipe and crawled back together.

Heck, I knew Gracey had forgiven and forgotten when I saw Dinah Gracey had wished Ed a happy birthday on Facebook back in July!

It was tongue in cheek and I don't remember where it came up. Maybe when Taylor was talking about Live as a foursome? Gracey's comment was something like "We're pretty great!" Meant to be funny. I wouldn't read into the specifics, but I think it was telling that he was watching the livestream and reacting positively. I remember someone saying on here that Gracey was the most hurt by Ed's actions, so the fact that he was watching Ed and Taylor and being positive is a very good sign in my mind.

I am really glad we won't be seeing all the divided fan base hate (CCP vs ED) as much anymore.

(I HOPE!)

Wow... I'm surprised. Didn't see this coming. At least, not yet.

Is this the very first time we see them together in public since... that weird final performance in 2009?

I do believe this is the first time the two of them have been seen together since 2009. Now just gotta see Gracey and Pat in with them. Glad to finally hear some news, and even better to see that they could move past all the conflict we saw after 2009.

My takeaways from the interview:

Firstly, HOLY SH*T! Ed and Chad are in a room together, doing an interview, smiling, happy. They looked at each other and laughed when they cracked jokes and patted each other on the back. In terms of their dynamic, it seemed much more like Ed and Chad from 90s-era interviews than anything post TDTH. They we're really chummy. It did not seem tense. It seems as if they've aired it out and are legit friends again. This is incredible news for anyone wanting a reunion, or at the least a reconciliation.

Chad and Ed were asked what the news is with them being in the same room together. Their answer is that they have been friends since kindergarten, were in a band together for a number of years, and are STILL in a band together. For two people trying to keep things secret, the translation to me is they're friends again. They've buried the hatchet in the name of rekindling a lifelong friendship and Ed is back in Live, with an acknowledgement that Live always belonged to the four of them. It was never Ed's band with CCP backing them up, and it was never CCP with a new singer. Live is ECCP.

At the start of the interview, Chad talked about the success of Live. He said what made Live great was that they worked as a foursome. They each brought something to the band and found a collective voice. Chad said Ed would have done well as a solo artist, and that any member of the band could have been fine on their own, but their collective voice is what made Live Live. This is in complete contrast to how Ed spoke of Live after the split. Ed said he was always the primary songwriter. He discredited CCP. In the lawsuit, Ed's side disputed CCP were even songwriters. Here was Ed, in the same room as Chad, listening to what Chad was saying, and agreeing. My guess is they talked about why the four members of Live drifted apart and CCP discussed how they were pushed aside and rediscovered their voice with TGF and CCCP and that's how they want to make music. If Ed is truly rejoining Live, I think it had to be on the terms that they would be a collective voice again. I'm optimistic that they respect each other as musicians again and if they are indeed going to write new music, it would be as foursome. Chad said Live was an ensemble. Ed joked(?) that if he could do it over he would have been a solo artist first then joined the band. Chad laughed. Ed laughed. My takeaway is that they've now all explored their musical options. CCP saw what it was like to start a new band (TGF). They saw what Live would be like without Ed. Ed saw what a solo career would look like. For whatever reason they're back together (money, music, etc) they want to try getting the old Live running again. Will it work? That's to be seen.

This was all on Chad's turf. Ed talked very positively about Think Loud and the studio. Ed talked about Chad as a producer. Chad took the lead on the interview and Ed let him (granted Ed wasn't even supposed to be there). I really, really think it's Ed coming back to Live and doing it CCP's way. I think Ed had to do it that way. I don't know who approached who, but I see this as Ed is rejoining Live, not CCP is rejoining Ed. I'm so optimistic they're going to try being a real band again.

Ed was not pretentious in this interview. He was humble. He let Chad speak. He never corrected Chad. He never talked about how great he was, his faith, his spirituality, nothing like that. This was not pretentious Ed. This was Ed joking around with his old buddy. I think Ed has humbled and is doing this on CCP's terms. Hopefully CCP's terms and Ed's terms are now one in the same.

The whole vibe of Ed and Chad was "No big deal. We're friends. We've always been friends. What breakup? What are you talking about?" I think they're cool with each other and have a sense of humor about the whole thing.

I don't think this was a planned stunt to get the fanbase talking. I think Chad wanted to promote his artist and invited Ed to hangout with them. That's telling of a friendship. If this was all about money and they really hated each other, they wouldn't be hanging out after hours.

Chad seemed really, really happy. He was all smiles. Ed seemed comfortable. I think this is a positive thing for all. The best way to defeat an enemy is to make them your friend. I think they understand that and have realized the best way to get past all of this is to reconnect with who they were when they loved each other.

I don't think we will hear any more news from the band for a long time.

Agreed! Great observations!

I'm trying to be patient awaiting 'something'.....it's admittedly tough!
