The more I hear some feel LIVE's silence is because they have retired, the more absurd it seems. Someone please explain the logic of erasing your band's Internet pages after retiring? How not announcing it to your fans is a proper goodbye? Or weirder yet, making your fans wait and guess what's going on for six months before you will talk about the band. How does that make any sense?

To me, it makes more sense to assume that perhaps Ed got wind of an anniversary Mental Jewelry project, was not pleased, and they are in another legal battle over the rights to the LIVE name and/or material. Judge says take down all Live stuff until everything is settled in court. Therefore, Ed's silence is explained also. -That- assumption may be stupid, but honestly makes more sense to me than retirement.

Live still has a long time to be viable. It would also be really sad if they quit at just 45 years old. And the way they went out (with a fizzle rather than a bang) would be ever more sad.

Ok, i just checked out Ed's FB page and i truly believe something is afoot because he hasn't posted anything since july but he is active on his site. He has liked a few posts that fans have written on his timeline very recently. I just think with what Chad has written about waiting to talk about music in the new year and Ed, who is usually keeping his social media firing on all cylinders are doing something together. I have read that +LIVE+ is over from somebody on here, but why would Ed be so silent if a band that he supposedly isn't a part of is calling it quits, and at almost exactly the same time, just too coincidental. I've also seen some positive stuff about Ed on the +LIVE+ FB before it went dark too. Is it that both +LIVE+ and Ed are taking a break or vacation at the same time? If +LIVE+ is retiring they would have announced it by now, especially if they have known it for about 5-6 months already i would think, that's not just fanboy talk.

Ed also mentioned in march that they are working towards a reconciliation. live have replaced references of Shinn to references of Ed, and ed has completely stopped touring for the first time since the breakup. Something is up.

Maybe Ed is leading them on an ancient Egyptian pilgrimage where he will renounce his multiple religions and they all claim allegiance to Osiris. They will bathe in the Nile and learn to tame crocodiles for use in future music videos and as reliable transportation between shows.

As I've said before, I'm sure priority #1 for them is re-recording songs they didn't think were good enough to put on an album previously.

It might not be obvious without knowing he has been pretty vocal recently on his stance on Live re-recording old tracks. Some people here actually think this is a realistic possibility
