Exactly. In fact, you would think at this point they would want to reward what ever fans they have left rather than annoy them.

I'm with you Heather. We need an announcement either way ASAP.

It's true that Ed toured pretty hard for Throwing Copper and I'm sure he needed a break. Heck, when you look at it, he's been on tour for 30 years almost pretty much non-stop. tongue.gif

But there's that nagging thought that he wouldn't just stop posting to Facebook etc. with such a strong following...

It's like you want to give up hope on a +Live+ reunion and you're fine with that, but you just can't when all this weird stuff (or lack of stuff) has happened!

Just re-record Hold Me Up, throw on some other unreleased material that is amazing, rock some new songs hard, and boom - success.

I'm pretty sure Hold Me Up would chart easily and they'd make a ton of money off the tour.

But who knows? Meh. >_<

The tour would be big money. That is why I still see it happening.

Depends what chart you are talking about, I suppose. Maybe the AC chart like Heaven did. Not on the one that counts, at last not high enough to matter.

And if they toured, depending on who they brought with them, they'd likely be playing some smaller venues so I doubt they would be making a ton of money.

Some of you guys gave some fairly big expectations as to the band's success if they reunite. One step at a time...

What band would ever hang it up and retire, including stripping down their websites, without an explanation to fans?!? Who DOES that??

Nor would they preface a reunion that way, IMHO.

QUOTE(Voodoo Lady @ Sep 18 2016, 2:58 pm) *

The banner and picture changes aren't exciting me anymore. They are moving at a snail's pace. When is Ed going to let us know he's still alive?! It's been two months already! And meanwhile, Chad's drink art, dog, and car racing posts bring tears of boredom to my eyes.

At this rate, it is going to be late December or the new year before an announcement is made. Zzzz. I hope they are not making a mistake staying silent so long.

Yes, I am quoting myself. lol.gif
Heather--Annoying fans sums it up perfectly. I was when I posted this a month ago. I am feeling pretty confident that them leaving the media scene months ago is a bad move. A few days or weeks maybe, not months. I will keep the hope until late December, but I'm starting to get pissy. This isn't a way to treat their fan base. I am sure we could get into a whole discussion as to what, if anything fans are "owed." But still...
What's wrong with announcing a reunited band and our greatest hits album (or rerecorded MJ album) with these unreleased tracks and three brand new songs will hit the shelves 12-31-16? Why all the long term secrecy?

Again, what's wrong with it is you made all of those things up in your head. Perhaps if they were going to do any of those things, they would announce it.

I wouldn't have "made it up in my head" if the band hadn't dropped hints as to a reconciliation.
Not fair.

Really? There were hints dropped as to 1) a reunion, and 2) a new album with unreleased tracks and new songs to be released on 12/31? How so?

Even if you can interpret what has happened as hints toward a reunion, the other thing you just totally made up.

I'm pretty sure you have expressed in this forum that it is in your opinion that signs point to a reunion. I don't feel like digging through the board to find your quote, so you may correct me if I'm wrong.

And what's wrong inferring (thank you, SJN) as to what type of material they could be working on to release if they do indeed get back together? That's what half the talk on this board has been about!

Look where all this talking got us, baby. sarcasm.gif

There have been a couple things you could interpret as foretelling a reunion. There's also been things pointing toward the band just quitting. Neither has been anything close to confirmed, obviously.

And, NOTHING points to what a reunion would mean, re-releases, unreleased tracks, etc. That's just what you want, there's nothing to point to any of it, it's just your dream. But you often state it as if it's fact, or as if there were something to support your belief.

And I will add, I do like the way you think, I'd love to see all of it happen. But at this point, there's nothing to make me believe it will.

Then this simply is just a case of differing personality traits surfacing in the way we/I communicate. Can't help it...I'm an INFJ "Dreamer" (Myers Briggs in case you're unfamiliar) and I won't take offense to what you were saying before. surrender.gif
