1) Doesn't even make sense, you can't make a "follow up" album to a 30 year old demo tape when you already had another 7 albums after that, especially where you weren't even making the same kind of music anymore by the next release (except for like 2 songs). I like DOAD, mostly because of its scarcity, but let's be honest, if you are one of the people who complaints that Live "didn't rock anymore" on SFBM, then you probably aren't much of a Paper Flowers fan either.

2) This continued belief that a band would reunite for the purpose of giving the fans unreleased or rare material is ridiculous. If you are going to get any kind of reunion (and I am still not convinced its forthcoming), it'll be the Greatest Hits like every other band that ever did it, with the hopes that if it goes ok, you'll get another album of new material and a full tour.

great points. it'll be the hits with POSSIBLY a few songs (like meltdown) that didnt get heavy rotation on tour for the die hard fans

And might I add, I would be OK with that, it'd be a good start.

funny that people are clamoring for older live music and not the ed led live days of sfbm all while also clamoring for a reunion. you want the old live but also want what destroyed the old live.

if it happens it will be a mix of hits. i hope it will be a mix of hits. because if they try to be the live from the ss days then it will be a dumpster fire

ed cant do that anymore. he is fine singing all the lighter stuff but he cant help bring back old live.

this will be live 3.0 lol

it would be good for an acoustic album or show. ed would be great. do some radio stuff or something. hopefully the others will be willing to turn it down so to speak. they will have to

With all due respect, I am so sick of people complaining about Ed's voice. It will never be 1997 again, but come on, it's not that bad. Even so, most singers blow out their voices as they age. Ian Astbury doesn't sound the same, Tesla's lead singer doesn't, Vince Neil from the Crüe doesn't...he sings almost like the Swedish Chef now. But who gives a flying flip?! Just go to the show, rock hard, and be THANKFUL you get to see them. rockin.gif

Ed's voice has matured better than most singers who have toured for 30 years

I was just kidding about Public Affection. But I think Live could possibly jump on the 90's revival bandwagon by putting out a reissue with extras for an anniversary. Many bands are doing this.

Agreed! I've felt this would be the best route for them
to take for a reunion. I'd love to see them tour by themselves, but it would also make absolute sense for them to team up with other 90s bands for a tour. I'm more of an 80s rocker chick (if you can't tell by now! lol), so who would be good for them to open for? Because face it, since they never get the respect they deserve, they would be opening for most. Smashing Pumpkins? Are Counting Crows still around?

I can't see a band that's not together doing that as their first move upon reuniting.

You totally missed the mark. People who want the old stuff don't expect the return of 20 something Ed. They are hoping for the return of Live as a complete band that worked together to create music. When you refer to SFBM you are referring to an Ed solo album featuring Live.

Asking for older Live is not asking to destroy the band, it is asking for the Live that was a band. None of the band is in its prime. Don't expect any of it to sound like 1997.

LOL at your ignorance and stupidity as a Live fan, it would not be Live 3.0. If anything, post TDTH (and maybe even that album) was actually Live 2.0. Guess you just didn't realize it.

Exactly, TDTH (although a pretty good album) was the turning point in the bands career and a very noticeable change. I personally don't think it holds a candle to TC and SS because it is the first time i felt some of the tunes were not as passionate and not as edgy or creative, just my opinion. I always see people posting about the first 4 records being their best, then they declined, but to me it clearly happened after SS. I would also like to add that i like "V' alot more than TDTH, but "V" still isn't on the level of TC and SS.

*I like MJ also, but TC and SS are so much better.

TC

Very true, TC. While TDTH has some of Ed's best poetry and some of my favorite Live songs, it is the first album that I do not listen to all the way through. I skip several... like Sun, Sparkle, and Meltdown. Yea, I don't see what's so great about Meltdown. I went back and listened after Chad posted the recent snippet. I'm still like nah.

I would love it if they did this. It would confuse the hell out of a lot of people, and that would bring me great enjoyment. It makes absolutely no sense to do it, you're right, but I completely support it. I know this suggestion was made in jest, but I would absolutely lose my shit if they did it.

I fucking love Paper Flowers. I would take that song live over anything on SFBM any day. They could even do a few jam sessions within the song, just to confuse the few people who have actually heard Paper Flowers. "She's got big black boots, get outta the way." - 7-minute Chad+Ed guitar jam; Ed tears his shirt off with his own teeth whilst playing and screaming "lurve!" and Chad starts stomping a pile of burning SFBM albums while he wails on his instrument - "She wants to kick tomorrow, punch yesterday, kick tomorrow, punch yesterday." - Gracey rages into a malevolent drum solo while Pat strips down to his socks, playing bass with his tongue and jumping into a terrified crowd reluctant to get anywhere near him. And then slowly transition into The Hands of a Teacher, which they all perform A capella just to further confuse the crowd.

Honestly, they've made their money. They aren't going to make much money in the future. Why not do whatever the hell they want, so long as they are happy (as a group) doing it?

Entirely likely that they wont reunite, just promoting something simutaneously. For example, my chemical romance just put out an anniversary reissue with extras without reforming the band. Happening with lots of bands.

Oh my GOD I would love this! yahoo.gif I seriously just stood up and applauded for you! However slightly exagerrated, I get you!! Talk about spontaneous combustion!! bomb.gif

I'd literally give my left arm to see them blow the roof off of a place again (hopefully in person and just not on You Tube) and to see them act like happy punks from York, PA again.
