I find it amusing that some people think they aren't in it for the money. They stayed in a band for years with a guy they didn't like who was writing music that they didn't like. What other reason would they have for doing that? Funny how once they realized they couldn't fill a club with Shinn as a singer there are all of these reunion rumors. I must say though, I could not care less what their reasons might be, I want them back. As one of the few people that has seen both Ed with his own band doing Throwing Copper and Shinn Live doing the same, we need one more go round of the real thing! Go listen to Throwing Copper in your car with the windows down and tell me that shit doesn't give you goosebumps even though you know every note! And I guarantee you Ed can still bring it. He's older and not as crazy as he used to be but his voice is still golden.

The article says UFD raised 30 million and CCP are planning to build an interstate fiber optic line along the east coast, and their investors are successful business people. I think there is a chance CCP might doing fine with money right now. Doesn't Gracey own another company too?

The other possibility is that Ed and CCP planned this whole thing, there was never bad blood, and they were just trying to get good press out of a fake feud ala Jay-Z/Nas.

You know, I've often thought that too. But, do people other than us even care about Live enough to even pay attention to a feud? No. Quite honestly there are about a total of five of us living in the York area that even still give a damn. If they are going to do something it had better be soon. I'm confused on the article though. I thought CT said they never made that much and therefore they didn't owe the 2 mil. I guess I read it wrong.

That is absolutely ridiculous. If you honestly think the band would even consider doing this then you don't know the band at all.

laugh.gif Are you being serious?! After all that post break-up, deep-within stuff that Chad would write about Ed? No way! He'd deserve an Oscar for that!

And I knew CCP needed money when they cancelled tour dates for The Turn. They couldn't afford to keep it going anymore. And as for Ed, he needed money when he started selling himself through Skype chats and personal recorded video messages. When bands need money, it's not the same as what we think of when we "need money." It will look like they have a lot to us, when to them, it's not what they are comfortable with.
Whether they are friends again or still can't stand each other, whether they are doing it for the money or not (if they are, it's not a compromise to their integrity, either)... I don't care!! I'm with Heather. I NEED to see them back together on stage. I love them with all my heart. And if they love us back, they will do it for us too.

Or perhaps the initial feud was legit, but things between Ed and CCP weren't as bad as they were between Ed's fans and CCP's fans. Looking over some old posts it looks like Taylor and Ed have been on speaking terms for quite some time, and Taylor's even said a few kind words about Ed's solo stuff. Most of the criticisms and attacks seem to have come from fans on the message boards and facebook rather than the band members themselves. I mean it's obvious the months after the split were pretty contentious but there did seem to be a lot of cooling off as well.

Well who really knows these guys personally? I know in their interviews both Ed and CCP offer a hefty amount of scripted BS. They have been very creative, prolific, and original ever since their militant Public Affection mailing lists when they were 16. They can create whatever image or scenario they want. I wouldn't underestimate their ability to sway a crowd. It might not be very likely, but I wouldn't rule a fake feud out. Look at how deeply the feud gets fans of all sorts to feel something and start talking about Live.

I dunno - possible, but I recall talking to CG back in (about) 2002-2003 and I asked them about re-recording old stuff and releasing it etc. and he just said something like "I don't know - Ed handles most of that stuff." ... But the way he said it - there was a lot of frustration there even then. I was a bit shocked.

Fake feuds don't end up in court......

Chad T just posted videos in the studio of him performing Meltdown and Stage. Looks like a retrospective album with rerecorded material could actually be coming.......

Why not? Filing a complaint is cheap, makes the feud seem real, gets press, and gets the fans clamoring. It was mediated behind closed doors.

But why bring Shinn into the mix? I know that they will lose some fans if they go back with Ed after saying how they were getting back to rock and yadda, yadda, yadda with Shinn. There are some hardcore fans that ate that up hook, line and sinker. They will never accept Live again with Ed back in the band. That's the only thing that makes me believe it was real. Otherwise, I wouldn't put anything past a band that is desperate for a comeback. I mean, look at V.

The post that I recall the most was this one:

http://www.fansoflive.com/forums/index.php...wtopic=4124&hl=

Admittedly I thought it was older than September 2012 when I posted last night, but still it shows the channels of communication were open between CT and Ed for at least the last four years.

The feud was real. Based on all of the hints that have been dropped and things we've observed, I'm sticking with my gut feeling that they have forgiven each other and it's all water under the bridge. They are working on an album of remastered and/or rerecorded stuff with two or three new songs. They will release it soon after their main LIVE social media sites go back up and they get some press being back with Ed. Then they will go on tour either mid sized venues alone or opening up for a bigger name. Not to mention, they are happily looking forward to the money (perfectly okay & human nature).

It would be totally plausible that they could work together still miffed at one another, but there's NO WAY they are sitting around seeing if they can get along or agree on music before they decide to reunite. No way.

I'm guessing more fans want a proper reunion with Ed. Even the anit-Ed Live fans are probably interested to see Ed back on CCP's terms. In any case they're going to follow closely to see how things play out.
