All signs point to a tour for the 25th Anniversary. If it wasn't going to happen, they would have shot down the rumors by now.

Oh yea, how do you figure they would have definitely squashed the rumors? Chad's cryptic twitter message and mysterious social media changes probably mean they want the rumor mill churning.

Wield that almost everything is gone. If you find their Google + account it has links to multiple media that is still there, but main things like Twitter and Facebook are gone.

Maybe taking a page out of the Radio head play book?

"Let's get all the fans hopes up for a reunion with cryptic messages and jacked up websites for six months and then haha, only kidding; here's a remaster of Mental Jewelry as your consolation prize. Thanks to Ed for playing along with the silent treatment all the time, too."

Wouldn't make any sense and would be something very heartless of Chad to do to the fans.

Chad responds (kinda)

“Jeremy – thanks for reaching out. I’m taking a long break from interviews but truly appreciate your support. I’m focused on impacting my local community, making records for some new artists and of course my family. That’s all I’ll say for now. Maybe sometime next year we can discuss band stuff. Keep up the good work until then.”

Exclusive: Live Guitarist Responds To Ed Kowalczyk Reunion Rumors
By Jeremy Neugebauer -
Aug 22, 2016

Live guitarist Chad Taylor posted on his Facebook page yesterday a quote from Dr Suess that read “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” Taylor also added he was “grateful, blessed, and thankful.”

It’s interesting to note that the band’s original frontman Ed Kowalczyk has no tour dates currently scheduled, and current singer Chris Shinn hasn’t been mentioned on Facebook in months. A reunion with Kowalczyk has been rumored.

Alternative Nation recently messaged Taylor requesting an interview to discuss the state of Live, he replied back with:

“Jeremy – thanks for reaching out. I’m taking a long break from interviews but truly appreciate your support. I’m focused on impacting my local community, making records for some new artists and of course my family. That’s all I’ll say for now. Maybe sometime next year we can discuss band stuff. Keep up the good work until then.”

Even though the band is keeping quiet, the hints they have been giving recently makes it seem that there are more big changes on the way, which could either be the band breaking up, or the band reuniting with Ed Kowalczyk but also having a positive break-up with current vocalist Chris Shinn.

In 2009, the original members of Live split under very tumultuous circumstances, which included lawsuits, Kowalczyk trying to get a lead singer bonus, and plenty of drama in the press, making it seem any positive relationship between the original members of the band and their founding vocalist was over. In 2014, with Kowalczyk continuing on with a solo career, Live brought in former Unified Theory vocalist Chris Shinn for The Turn, which many fans considered the band’s best release since 1997’s Secret Samadhi.
The last update that we received from Live was in January of this year, when Chad Taylor posted on his Facebook page that Live was recording new music. The person providing vocals wasn’t mentioned in the post and since the January post, updates on the current state of the band have been silent.
However, in July of this year, it did seem Live had a change of heart regarding former vocalist Ed Kowalczyk. A fan praised Kowalczyk on Facebook and the band shared the post. That post has since been deleted.

I was really hoping a reunion was happening but now it seems that may not be the case.

Maybe Chad approached Ed to rejoin the band and Ed refused which led to the Dr Suess tweet singling it was time to hang it up for LIVE. I hope I'm wrong though

Ed has wanted a reunion in the past. I think pat and gracey were against.

To me, the quote he posted could mean a few things...who knows. However, at least Chad responded in some way (however vague) instead of leaving us fans completely in the dark. IF a reunion of any sort is happening, I respect them for taking their time, being thorough and methodical vs. a rushed decision.

All of the actions/happenings of the past few months are SUPER telling to me that something is happening: Posting earlier this year about 'new music'/playing guitar/producing/ThinkLoud pics/etc., Ed even saying they were taking 'baby steps toward reconciling' and 'potential future projects...never say never' ALL of their Facebook and social media posts....I could go on.

Related to the other post about them being 'done'/retiring and Ed taking the band name I HIGHLY doubt....for the reasons above as well, but interesting take.

I'm telling this to myself too but....everyone wil just have to be patient and hope for some type of announcement in the (hopefully) near future.

That's a good sign that he wasn't referring to Live. I also think Chad's response to the request to interview was a very Chad way of saying "no comment" and/or "I am no longer the spokesperson for Live."

Thank you for this article! It's good to know what exactly the Seuss post was about and that it wasn't about LIVE. I think Chad is just dancing his way around questions and purposely being vague because they aren't ready to announce yet and they also want to announce the reunion in the fashion they have planned. --Not through some reporter/writer on an alternative music website. I don't see them waiting and leaving websites and social media down until Dec. 31st (MJ's anny, right?). As someone else stated earlier, I too expect something in a couple of weeks.

Isn't Dinah Gracey Chad G.'s wife? For what it's worth, I saw through Facebook comments that she wished Ed a happy birthday with an XOXO. When I saw that I thought, "Well the Chad G./Ed feud can't be that bad anymore."

I dunno, if my hubs refused to work with someone, I wouldn't wish that person a happy BD with a XOXO. shrug.gif

I have a jpeg of it. How do I post a jpeg in here? When I click "insert image" it wants me to give a URL. Anyway, if you want to look for yourself, go to Ed's FB page and scroll down through the comments to his "Thank you for the kind birthday wishes." She's at July 16, 12:35 p.m.
