Hi Everyone! I've been a Live fan since '94 where some where some friends in my high school introduced me to them and took me to see them in concert in Oxford, OH. Over the years, I got to see them live 20+ times, even meeting them once after a show when I won passes from the fan club. My favorite show of theirs was actually 20 years ago today, at a small club in Chicago, IL. It was so great to see them in an intimate venue at such a high point in their career.

I slowly started to drift away around the time of Songs From Black Mountain, partially because I wasn't excited about the sound of the album, and partially just because of life. I checked in now and again on the band, The Gracious Few, Ed's solo career, and the new album a few years ago, but none of them drew me back in. That is until I just heard about the reunion a few weeks ago. But not until I heard that they did a show on NYE did I get exited.

That brought me here. I've been enjoying the message board, hearing about some things I missed over the years. I've especially enjoyed the Multimedia section! Back in the day, I was highly involved in trading cassettes and videos of shows (I still have a box of them in the basement). I even started up the Live Trader's Page, if anyone around here remembers that. I also had a large collection of shows on an old hard drive that no longer works. Browsing through what is available here, I should be able to get back everyone I had here and so much more! I've already enjoyed watching the NYE 2016 show and have been downloading a lot of great stuff. Can't wait to listen to it all.

Guess I'm back on the bandwagon again! Looking forward to catching up with other things I missed on the forum and definitely excited to see what's in store for the band the next couple of years.

Thanks!

Yep, that's it! I had an even older version hosted on Geocities that I tried finding through The Wayback Machine, but never could find it.

Hello everyone, I'm tbone2004, long time fan of Live since I can even remember. Before I share my experiences and thoughts of the band, I guess I should share a little about myself...

I'm a hardcore gamer, video editor/creator for Youtube (since 2006), and I love doing audio works, like mashups and audio editing. I'm also a veteran of the US Navy (2007-current), so you could say I do a lot with my life.

My reason for joining FoL is because I've always wanted to see more about Live than just what I've seen on Youtube and heard on Facebook. I remember seeing this website back in late 2005, and seeing all the really cool bootlegs. But what peaked my interests was the unreleased songs from TDTH, such as Vine Street and Deeper. Ever since then, I've kept track with Live through this site, but I never once considered joining.

I've held out for Live for such a long time, even during their breakup back in 2009. At first, I was on the bandwagon for Ed, then I switched sides to "Live with Chris Shinn". But after awhile, I realized that at the end of the day, it all comes down to the music, and really, isn't that why we're fans of the band?

So that's my introduction, hope to meet some cool people here! Rock on! guitar.gif

Hi. I'm not new but I haven't been here in forever.

A lot's changed about me in that period of time. For example, I came out as transgender a few years ago. So... yeah.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this group but not +LIVE+. I had lost faith in band but THE TURN made me interested in band again. New EP with Ed is decent. Mainly just very curious to see the development of all things +LIVE+. music.gif

Hi all...just wanted to see what's up on the Live forum and the Live fans these days...never been on here until a few days ago.

Well it took me 25 years but finally listened to the whole TC album. I was at work after Labor Day, surfing through YTube and suddenly craved the song LCrashes and TC album has been on repeat since then along with many Live youtube videos!

I'm blown away...LOVE this album so much, easily one of my favorite now! On the first listen through, I didn't really notice the strength of Iris, Stage or TBD but Iris definitely tugs at my heartstrings for some reason or another...

I grew up in the 90's, was a lost undecided college sophomore girl when album came out (yes, oldie here :-). I remember listening to the powerful songs Selling the Drama, I Alone (the bizarre video!) and of course, the beautiful Lighting Crashes. Like everyone, I'm transported back to the 90's when I listen to these songs. Oh the memories---"the song remembers when" indeed.

I remember my sister buying the album, checking out the unique strange artwork but somehow, never listened to the whole album. Probably because at the time, I was discovering TORI AMOS, Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, Collective Soul, Sarah McLachlan just to name a few!!

I'm still catching up to their other songs (Ghost, Turn My Head, Overcome, Heaven, Lakini's Juice) and albums and all the drama with their split, the insane drumming by CGracey and the front man hotness that is Ed K., etc. Just wished I saw them back in the earlier days too!!

Here's to good music!!

Krotona here - a newbie. My story is that I was a huge fan of Live the second I saw the video for Operation Spirit on MTV back in 1990. I was thrilled with Throwing Copper but bummed out with it's commercial success (like most "true" early fans get with all bands). When Secret Samadhi came out I gave it a listen and laughed my ass off after listening to "Rattlesnake." I thought "what is this garbage?" and quit listening to them. I did end up purchasing "Alive" back in the early 2000's and enjoyed those songs but never thought of myself as a huge fan. Fast forward to last October when my cousin dragged me to see Live/Bush and Our Lady Peace. I was excited for two reasons:

1. I'm a huge OLP fan; and
2. I actually saw Bush live once back in 1993 before they became famous and before Everything Zen became a hit. I actually was back stage at the concert and met the band (Gavin a short dude). I wasn't really expecting much from Live though. But sure enough after the concert, I was a bit perplexed by the song choices (two covers???? why?).

Anyway I digress, so before the show I decided to get reacquainted with Live's music and rediscovered Secret Samadhi. I gave it a few listens and ultimately decided that it was my fav. Live album. Then I decided to give the rest of them a chance as well and discovered that I actually really like Live a lot. And they're all I've been listening to since. I've spent the last three months re-discovering live and it's been fun. SS still remains my fav. album, and to go back and hear Ed describe the writing process (in Jamaica oddly) even adds more intrigue to the album. And yea I get the criticism I read about their recent stuff, and I largely agree, but overall it's not bad, and it's a nice break with what I had been listening too for the last while. Anyway, that's my lengthy story.

Cheers!

Hello fellow Live fans,
My name is Denise and I am a long lost fan from Perth Western Australia
I haven't been on a forum for years , I think I remember how to do this wink.gif
I have been a Live fan since I first saw Lightning Crashes on tv and fell in love with the whole Live concept.
I've been to many concerts here in Perth and got to meet them all just once backstage in an aftershow meet and greet. I also met many wonderful fellow Live fans.
Those were the days!! Many thanks to Daniel for reaching out to me and inviting me back!!!
The last concert I went to was when Live supported Deb Leppard and Chris Shinn was up front and doing a great job.
I must admit that felt a bit weird not seeing Ed. Thank goodness the original band are together again.

Hey Denise! Fellow Aussie here banana.gif I've only been on the forum for a few months however I didn't introduce myself back then. I'm Louise (Lou) and I'm over the otherside in Mackay, QLD. Always loved Live but never got into them until 6 months ago after watching Woodstock 99. Hooked! Live is my addiction...OBSESSION!. I've googled, downloaded and purchased whatever I can LIVE related and have watched Eddie transition from the skinny little gruff voiced 'boy' to the beautiful man he is now. I find it hard to fathom that the boy dancing around the fire on the beach in Operation Spirit is the same Eddie of today! I've watched a lifetime of LIVE music, the guys evolving into men, Ed's changing voice, the band split and reunion, all in 6 months!! and it does my head in. I so regret not following them back in the early days. But I'm here now and here to stay. Ultimately now, at the top of my bucket list is to see them in concert and a meet & greet would top that off nicely. I will say I cannot bring myself to watch or listen to anything 'Chris Schinn" though. Not sure why. Maybe one day nervous.gif Anyway Long Live +LIVE+ rockin.gif
