There are people who absolutely LOVE Live's music, who LOVE Secret Samadhi and supported it when many frontrunners had already moved on, who have paid money for all the albums, many concerts, merch, been there for 20+ years.... and what... because they go on vacation or have to work or have something else going on in their lives where they can't troll on facebook or twitter or whatever, they miss out on something this cool?

I'm not even going to waste my time on a long rant here. I'm simply going to ask a question.

Is this really a nice way to treat the fanbase? Is it as simple as "Doesn't matter how much you love the MUSIC, you need to STALK *ME* all day every day, and when I give you a chance to sign up for something in a very limited time window, you better damn well take it, motherfucker."

For those of you who received the download and are not helping out the community here, shame on you. Nevermind all the concert video and audio recordings we've shared with you all... It's a sad moment when dangum, who has given us so much, has to offer out $100 to get these recordings.

What are you protecting? Stop being so pretentious. I'm disappointed that dangum resorted to offering money, and I hope no one takes him up on the offer. No one here wants to profit or exploit from these recordings. Many of us are long time fans who have supported Live since the beginning. I own every version of Secret Samadhi on vinyl, and several releases on CD. I've shared numerous recordings of concert material with members. So I had to work all day when this was offered via the smart phone app. I should go fuck myself for wanting a copy of a recording I've wanted for years? Don't be a dick.

Agreed. This is complete BS. The only reason we know about this recording is because Chad told us how awesome it is when he promised to release it YEARS ago...the only people who want this recording are obviously diehard fans who have supported the band for several years

Please explain to me how the hardcore fan base wanting these recordings to listen to at home or in their cars is "exploiting" them.

While you're at it, maybe you could explain how the fans who happened to be around for a few select hours and happened to download the app at the right time are any LESS likely to "exploit" these recordings than other longtime fans who didn't happen to be around with the app at the right moment...? Are Cyberdust app users more trustworthy?

In this world of yours where fans of LIVE are more interested in plastering rare recordings on BitTorrent or selling them on eBay — than, let's say, acquiring rare recordings of their favorite band to listen to — what makes the Cyberdust app users so far "above" us lowly fan-forum members that THEY (you?) can be trusted with these recordings but we can not? What's to stop the app users from selling them on CDs or sharing torrents online? Of course, this illicit behavior is surely reserved for "other" fans who didn't log in to an app at the right time. Right?

It's nice to have a self-appointed Protector Of The Recordings making sure no one else can hear them, but please, when you step down from your soapbox, I'm anxious to hear your logic here. Thanks for your time, and for protecting these recordings from all these other exploitative, careless, less-trustworthy fans. I don't know what we or the band would do without you.
