There are many that urge you to share, myself included, but if you cannot (or will not) can you at least talk about it? What is it really, how are the known songs different?

It seems he just wanted to let everyone know he has them, kinda like: "look what i got, and you don't got". A damn shame if we never hear these. I do remember chad mentioning wanting to release these a few years back, so i don't think he would mind if they were shared on a Live fan website.

I really think legal issues was a problem for the release of the sessions. Chad wanted, but something stood in the way. Now that they gave copies to some fans, it becomes the fan's choices, and I really respect a fan who doesn't want to share this. It was given hand to hand by band members. It's precious so yes I understand someone who would like to keep it for him.

Why bashing zman for having the churchbox sessions?

i'm not here to start another war. i get the people. i really want it too, but it was given to zman by the band as a thankyou for his support.

I'm sure the band had released it if they could.

I'm guessing it will be circulated amongst a small group of people. Since I learned about it years ago I've just wanted to hear it. I'm guessing it will probably never happen but holding out hope someday I come across the tracks.

If they are that good it's a shame more people won't get to appreciate them.

Yep, and we have folks saying that they own them. It seems like i'm the only one pushing hard to get them and we all want them. If they were in my possession you all would get to enjoy them....this will probably be the last time i post on this topic. Folks need to upload these for all of us Live fans, like i said, no excuses, these need shared, quit saying they are sacred! Give them to the people that want them: LIVE Fans!

pretty sure these are fully mastered tracks. Here is the proof:

what i have in mp3 format certainly sound totally finished. And they're that damn good too.

not sure about the distinction between finished masters and demos, but to quote Pat when he sent out Mallrat and Photograph:

not sure about the distinction between finished masters and demos, but to quote Pat when he sent out Mallrat and Photograph:

Demo, for an established band like Live was at the time, was a studio recorded track. The tracks are put together as a "demo" to the record label, executives, management, and whatnot to determine what is going to make the cut to the final album

Master, is studio recorded track that gets a more attention to the post process and/or re-recording. This may be where the great producers come in and tweak levels/mix, maybe add extra tracks or whatever.

There is some overlap between the two, it's an emerging process between the two stages and can vary from band to band, and produce to producer, but it seems clear that Photograph and Mallrat didn't make the SS cut, and as such, never got anymore production other than the studio grade quality tracks that we already possess.

It's no more or less than say the Full band version of Overcome that was technically a "demo" that didn't make the TDTH album cut.

Why does it seem "clear" that Mallrat and Photograph did not get more production?

I say it's very unclear what stage of production these track would reach.

We may have received these Churchbox versions instead of the official versions because Chad has written that he liked Churchbox more than SS. Chad seemed to be promoting Churchbox at the time. Maybe there is a copyright issue with sending out the most finished track. We know there are other fully produced studio versions of SS songs out there; Cheetah. The TDTH demos obviously have tracks that became more fully produced (sparkle 2nd version, walk into this room, don't wait, alternate versions of album tracks, etc). Live claim to have way more songs recorded during album sessions than what winds up on various albums. What evidence do we have which stage of production these songs would be at?
