I don't understand where you are hearing these lengthy guitar solos and jam sessions. I'm beginning to think that you didn't actually listen to The Turn. It's a very straight forward rock album. It has a single song over 5 minutes, and the rest are 3-4 minutes. In fact, I find that the album is far too straightforward and relies too heavily on choruses. Their first four albums had more songs with longer "jam sessions" and instrumental parts. You are just inventing complaints now.

I listened to the album. Virtually every song has an extended music session. Hell, all five videos that they released came with a slow motion Chad Taylor guitar solo part. That is fine once or twice an album, but not repeatedly. At least for me.

Nothing on there is extended. Go listed to Dream Theatre and then The Turn and tell us The Turn is full of extended music sessions. You have no idea and knowledge about music but yet want to make "educated" comments on the music. Clearly, you enjoy pop music where the music becomes secondary to the instruments. That is totally fine but please don't try to make comments on music when you have no idea what you are talking about.

That's called a bridge, and is an essential part of any song to break the repetition from verses and choruses. That said, The Turn is no more jammy or instrumental than any of Live's first 4 albums. Even V had longer jam sessions for some songs.

It's fine if you want verse/chorus/verse/chorus (end of song) - Thats what Ed started heavily with on BOP and on every song on SFBM and his current solo stuff. But to claim that you are a Live fan, and like all their older material (which contains more "jam sessions" than The Turn) is getting old.

I believe that Live over did it with The Turn when it came to bass, drums, and guitar solos. It is nice when you jam out occasionally on a record, but The Turn has a jam session on basically every song. It became very repetitive for me, very fast.

CCP need a strong lead singer like Ed or even Kevin Martin to reign them in a bit.

Wow! this is nonsense over nonsense. I mean, in at least 3 songs I would have liked to have more guitars in some parts. I can name them: Need tonight, The strength to hold on and He could teach the devil tricks.

I know he is not super technically good to do solos, but these 3 songs needed more of it toward the end to accentuate a crescendo, particularly TSTHO.

That being said, we finally had drums and bass that was missing since TDTH (included). So it is a brilliant piece of work.

Actually Siren's Call reminds me of Dream Theater at times, which is cool.

That is why TC was (is) a masterpiece. Despite not that many solos or exhibition from the musicians, the song structures varies from a song to another. The build up of TDAOC, the extension of WD, the long and beautiful POD. The changes between verses, chorus and bridges(solo) are not always at the same exact place.

Even on SS, the songs began to have a more common structure. Still a super piece of art, but not as original as TC.

I can totally see that. I was more going with the fact that you can have 8 minutes of just music in a dream theater song.

Come on guys. You should know by now everything that Nikki has to say about Live is negative to get a reaction. Stop responding to her and maybe she'll stop posting this nonsense.

I think many of the fans "who came back in droves" still need a tutorial.

A tutorial of nonsense? Perhaps we should because it is a talent to say nonsense so easily - I can't do it.

is this the same guy? Just wow. If this doesn't tell a story about who this troll is and his intentions of post LIVE sans Ed, just wow.

When a band tells you to take a hike, persistent trolling indicates all is not right with the troller.

You know exactly who I am. It is nice to see all those who vowed never to return come back with new names. Same old story, but new names.

Do you still have extra TP?

That thread was actually hysterical.

The Gracious Few will be back on the road before we know it. No backburner for TFG.

Was OuttoDry Jeremy Bryant? I'm not entirely sure.
