Why would they acquiesce with Ed when the apparently had issues with him and Chris was already the lead singer in LIVE? For a money grab? Where is the integrity to the matter? I read that they were undergoing battles for contractual wrong doings and copyright infringements. I see 1000 page threads on lawsuits here.

LIVE did one TC show. Ed is making it a focal point of his tour and seeing how it's now expanded, milking it seems the appropriate word. I don't understand that at all.

I don't think it's as easy as you're making it out. I saw at the show I attended this year that they are super happy. I see some Ed videos that he's happy too. Why re-unite when no one wants too. They are too far apart musically, besides all the bad blood. It's a final divorce.

Why this constant drive to re-unite? Are you Ed's accountant? Does he have debts to pay and you're the super promoter? I think most of the old standing long time fans are quite happy with the 'new' LIVE. I know there are many that can't see past change and pine for Ed and CCP. But that isn't reality at all, it's personal conflict with oneself that acceptance is not an answer.

But to me after hearing how The Turn, turned out, it's LIVE.

I'da paid my whole life savings to have been front row center for that! It sure would have been awesome for the fans, but CCP are too selfish to do it for us. Again, Vince, Tommy, and Nikki got back together while hating each other in 2005 for Crüe FANS (and I'm sure the money didn't hurt either).

Too selfish to do what THEY want to do? Well that is good selfishness then. Happy to have heard Shinn sang TDAOC rather than 2014 Ed. Curiously I saw a good version he did of Stage earlier this year, but TDAOC and White, Discussion are enough to leave the building.

I'd rather hear Ed sing with strep throat rather than Shinn attempting to cover Ed's songs. CS did not live those lyrics & has no clue what he's singing about.

Besides, Ed does not sound that bad. No
Singer sounds the same after 20 years. Vince Neil sounds like shit on stage, but we eat it up just BECAUSE. For the love of all that's holy, you guys just do not get it...... no.gif

Have you ever looked at the other side of the coin? They're not selfish for so called 'rejecting' a reunion, i would think that there are some wounds that haven't healed or won't. The LIVE that existed from 2001-2009 was not the LIVE of 1989-2000. The band collaborative was changed to singer song writer taking control, and for other reasons mentioned the other poster, and something i said earlier...they stayed too long and tried to compromise with Ed, that only went so far. It's a acrid divorce.

I think you need to brush up on who Chris Shinn is. He was a friend of the band for a long time and a fan even longer. Yes a fan. just like all of us. Him stepping in is big shoes to fill. He does the songs justice like they were done years ago, i am talking in the 90's. No, he's not Ed, he's not supposed to be. He hold the songs reverent and from what i witnessed in the summer....he is doing a great job holding the torch, while paying homage to the old ECCP standard of those years gone by.

HE does know what he is singing about because he sat and stood in those crowds back when, just like us.

I understand Shinn can't live up the songs because he didn't write them all. Fair point and it's partially true. But have you seen the acoistic versions of I alone this week? Man he gives justice to this old classic.

I once observed A Flock of Seagulls reunite while wanting to MURDER each other, to sing "I Ran" for their fans. It can be done, just as messily divorced parents put on a smile for their kids when they are around. smile.gif And you never know, if they just start hanging around each other again, they just might get over it & start liking each other again. Mötley did.

Amen. It is a job. I didn't know liking your co-workers was a prerequisite for employment.

Live has a catalog of roughly 100 songs. They would never need to create together, just play together.

I'm happy for you that you can tolerate him. He is not the worst I've ever heard, but I refuse to kiss his ass. IMO he is average recorded thanks to the studio, below average to at times bad live on stage.
There is no effin' way he knows what he's singing about. Some of Ed's lyrics still blow my mind after a million listens and are highly debatable.

We are doing the same job for a living. I'm teaching too, gym is a fraction of my subjects. How can you be efficient and most importantly have fun with it if you can't get along with your co-workers? It will show somewhere, as it was showing particularly for Live in the 2008-2009 period.

Not true, Ed wanted a Throwing Copper Anniversary Tour with all four original members. CCP balked. A worldwide tour with all four to celebrate Throwing Copper would have been awesome for the fans, and likely would have sold out worldwide.

Can you show any evidence of this?

Chad Gracey said on Live's FB that Ed wanted to come back for the tour, but they wanted an apology first.

Every teacher and administrator in your school gets along? I seriously doubt that. hehe.gif
