QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Nov 6 2014, 12:05 pm) *

Ed hasn't been in Live since 2009. Live reformed without Ed in early 2012. To blame Ed for Live's new album tanking in 2014 is truly ridiculous.

hahaha, you really have trouble understanding even basic concepts, don't you? Listen, I know this may come as a shock, but most people don't follow the members of Live, and their last exposure to the band was Songs from Black Mountain. The cumulative effects of the last few albums have definitely impacted whether or not people purchase The Turn. If it weren't for this forum, and occasionally getting hopeful snippets of decent material, I would have passed on listening to the album as well. I have no interest in another Live album like the past three.

Here is an actual (seriously, this is a true story) conversation I had with a friend the other day:

me: Live has a new album out! have you heard it?

friend: LOL, No. their few albums were terrible. I'm not interested.

me: It's actually pretty good. You should listen to it. Some of the songs are the best they've done since Samadhi

friend: Yeah, right. Does Ed still sing about water, Jesus and his daughter?

me: LOL, I'm sure he does, but he's not in the band anymore. They have a new singer.

friend: huh. maybe I'll check it out.

I would bet this is a fairly typical conversation about the band these days.

Clearly his trolling is working since everyone is riled up. Back in the day, the troll would message me in AIM chat saying how he only posts on here to tick off the CCP regulars whom have since gone over to White Discussion.

Hopefully the real Live fans around here that are enjoying the new music stick around and stay active. yahoo.gif

By the way, I really haven't seen this board this active since around the SFBM era. I recall how excited fans were for a new album only to be disappointed yet again. Clearly this is not the case this time and I hope the old fans keep coming back and engage in discussion and share their enjoyment of the new album with us.

Live's first appearance in England in over 5 years, and it wasn't a sell out. Just like NYC and LA. Big markets, and no sell outs.

Oh and the cheesy singing in the audience routine has to go.

It'll take some time for all of the fans that Ed alienated to come back. However, it looks like the fans that did make it had a good time.

Live works best with the four original members. I don't think any 90's band still has all members in tact. Live still has that ability if they choose to use it.

I have seen Ed do this back in the day during tbd. Before he was cheesy.

They have righted the ship, now it's just discovery. General consumers are gonna see "Live" on the album cover and think they are getting more "Love Shines" and pass on it. Maybe they will learn otherwise. I've heard nothing but positive remarks on the album save for you and crazy cat lady.

Excuse me chicken boy. Just because you dislike others opinions does not mean you can go around calling them names. And here i thought you were one of the nicer ones. Classy.

No it doesn't work the best if they are all together, they are drastically far apart artistically. Have been since 2001.

False. I think they've made it pretty clear that they can't work well together, and they have different aspirations for what they want to do musically.

The original band is NEVER going to get back together. Anyone else thinks otherwise is clearly emotionally immature and lacks the ability to understand that some people split up and move on from each other.
