Right now WOTD is my favorite. I don't get the Siren's Call love at all. Sure the riff initially rocks, but there is something missing. I find it boring. TWAT and NBK are decent. I love how the drums are present in every song. Actually that's the only thing, I miss on Ed's new songs. Hard Hitting Drums.

This is pretty dark, lyrically. It's light and nice sound-wise, but the lyrics are a tad... disturbing, I guess.

Hey all -

Fan since TC and lurker here for years and finally decided to join. Don't see a general 'The Turn' album thread so I figured I would post here.

I see this album as a breath of fresh air judging from the 4 songs we've heard so far. I was pretty skeptical about Shinn (or anyone else) fronting the band, but these songs have made me a believer. Add Live to a growing list of bands carrying on with a new lead singer (these lead singers, I tell ya!).

Musically this is definitely vintage Live and you can just tell that they've been waiting for this moment for quite some time listening to the interviews and just the music itself. I would almost fit what we've heard so far as a missing link of sorts to their '90s output.

I was actually a bit underwhelmed by TWAIT, but the last 3 songs have really turned that feeling around and can't wait to hear the rest. I really dig this marketing structure as well where they are revealing a new song every week which got me to pre-order the album - I don't normally do that as I just wait till release day to pick it up typically.

NBK is pretty interesting as it's musically very upbeat and majestic sounding and then you throw in these VERY dark lyrics. WOTD is also fantastic and is probably my favorite at this point with NBK a close second.

My only criticism so far is the choruses get to be a bit repetitive - TWAIT being the biggest culprit (which is probably why I don't like it as much as the others, although it's grown on me a bit the last few weeks).

Anyway that's my story - looking forward to next Tuesday for the next one. cool.gif

my thoughts exactly. I wish they would reign those in a bit, but otherwise, the 3 recent songs are decent.
