This isn't going to a PC post and will come across as sexist. Is it me or does it seem like the female Live fans/Nick are a bit more stuck on Ed not being the lead singer of Live anymore than most male fans?

The new music is amazing and unlike anything we've heard since the TDTH era yet some just can't get over the fact that their beloved Ed isn't fronting them anymore. Get over it ladies!

Here is a message for those who cannot get over the fact Ed isn't the one singing these new lyrics.

If you can find a way to see through it and hear CCP take flight with their instruments, you will only then get that intangible feeling you had when you heard and fell in love with Live for that very first time.

I haven't heard them strum and bang their instruments on an album like that in a very long time. Clearly Ed's ego got in the way and stifled the rest of Live; those who helped create that musical aura we all felt in one point in the past. I firmly believe it is back again. nod.gif

Very well said! Sometimes they sound like we are in 2000, TDTH came out a year ago, it was very good, Ed left and CCP continue with Chris - they omit 2000s and Edian garbage and the fact that Ed destroyed the sound and essence of Live.

Well i would be more diplomatic than this, but just imagine if this would have been released after TDTH... Ed or no Ed....just consider the music there. They would probably still be relevant today!

Well...trust me, I've gotten over the whole Ed thing a long time ago. I do wish him well, and welcome Chris' attempts to help get things back in order.

Interesting hypothetical. If Ed left right after TDTH and Chris and the guys put out the Turn for Live's 5th album, I wonder if there would be outrage or disappointment. Live might need the disappointment surrounding BOP and SFBM for fans to embrace Chris.

Very much so. Ed took us down such a wretched path with the likes of Mystery (ON NATIONAL TELEVISION NO LESS) and Sophia that it makes the new music that everso refreshing.

Actually from what I've heard so far, I think BOP sounds better than those three songs.
What I don't like about BOP is the production, but the songs are alright.
While I'm at it. About half of SFBM is pretty solid!

In all seriousness, you are probably correct. I don't think it is sexist if it's a fact.

I appreciate this too...Except for Ed having an ego (IMO, who's to really know if you don't know him personally?) this is the best advice so far. It's not anyone telling me that Chris Shinn isn't terrible (because sorry, my perception is my reality, just as him being wonderful is yours and we will argue and go around in circles all day). Nor is it someone saying that I take a band (music) too seriously. What the?--we who "take it too seriously" are blessed to know/feel what music is supposed to do. For those who have that gift, music is part of our soul and not just bouncing of our ears. ("let your ears hear the beautiful song hiding underneath the sound!

It is also true of the person who said some fans have dealt with the break up a long time ago and have moved on. Some are just now dealing with it (me) and to discuss it here is an annoying rehash for the ones already moved on. +LIVE+ is a beloved thing not appreciated by masses (underrated) and it is hard to find people to grieve with. Most people are like "who?" "You know, 'Lighning Crashes'... I'm sure all of you have experienced that one.

Half of BOP and SFBM are just listenable. the other halves are pure shit!!!

Alright, we clearly have different intentions on a message board and I understand your view. I am sorry if I was not helpful then, even better someone else was. Everyone uses a message board to his use and so yours is as legitimate as mine.

But please don't get defensive by slamming my perception of music. I am a musician myself, and music may be a part of my soul as it for you. Just because I try to get a perspective, playing in a band myself it doesn't mean I am passionless. I am just not concentrating my love to one band, which is for me a very healthy thing and yeah, maybe I am lucky to be able to.

But I get that for you it is not about musical discussion then about sharing grief, so enough of me being defensive. I hope we understand each others motivations on this board and move on.
