I actually like this song more than TWAT. Nothing spectacular, but still better than the second half of SFBM, and some of BOP.

Can we at least all agree that the slow motion shots of CT are cheesy as it gets, though?

I'm apparently in the minority but I really really like "We Open The Door". I might even like it as much as Siren's Call. SC is great and heavier but WOTD seems like it has more polished intricacy, IMO deeper lyrics, and overall is of the three that sticks out as the most Live sounding. If this were Throwing Copper, SC = White Discussion, whereas WOTD = I alone or Selling the Drama. It is just more identifiable Live. As a close fan of the band I don't even listen to IA or STD anymore, but I do listen to tracks like WD, Stage, DAOC, ect, but back in 1998 I probably listened to IA or STD more. I think WOTD is the same. I'm really into it now (pun not intended) but 5 years from now it'll be the catchy (but good) track that I'll likely get tired of.

That intangible "thing" you are referring to is an immeasurable and unquantifiable quality that Live's music possessed in the early years that we all fell in love with. It had been sorely missed the last couple of albums they put out under Ed's direction.

It's back and better than ever sons.

Allow me to clarify and rephrase. I meant better than any post TDTH era led by Ed Live.

Those who do not agree with this they need to find good arguments / facts to support so.

After listening to the three songs many times I classify them as:
TWAIT: good
WOTD: very good
SC: outstanding

As a whole, I like the 3 new Live songs..that being said, I like Lighthouse, Rivertown, Like I do, She, Overcome and every song on TDTH besides for Sun more than these songs so far..not sure what kind of facts you want given that this is all personal taste

Finally, when it comes to Shinn, someone who semi-shares my opinion that he sounds awful! I don't even think he sounds good in concert and I'm not making any excuses for him. I say it is his fault. He is a less than average vocalist with no stage presence. I think all three of the songs are really good lyrically and musically, but leave me wishing to hear what they would sound like from someone with a better set of pipes. I guess I'm the Simon Cowell of this board, the realist, while the majority of you must have your fingers crossed behind your back when you say you like his sound. Additionally, this is childish, but I can't stand looking at him either, so I have to minimize You Tube when I listen to the new material. The size of his nostrils irk me, the haircut irks me, his one outfit that he always wears irks me--even though he has seemed to have torn the sleeves off for a slightly different look). Even though Shinn is subpar, I'll continue to listen to support Chad, Chad & Pat.

I applaud you. Great post. You took the words right out of my mouth. I still say they should have stuck with TGF.

I actually really tried to listen and give it a go being that despite what people think i love and support CCP.
I think some are just afraid to admit because they believe they have this "tightness" with band members and they are grasping so bad so they just claim to love every track.

There is no intangible "thing" there. I mean, let's get serious.
The music is okay but not anything to grab you at all.
You guys are reaching for it but it just isn't there.
I think it's great they kept going and that they are still making music they love but it just isn't there for me.
I just can't get into it.

Also, The shit fans did to some people... All the waiting and court shit and they way all of the clan just came and wrecked this place and good lord, the whole NICK deal. What's sad is Nick is a fan, he is not a troll and never was.

He is the bigger person and always has been. I could go on and on but why bother.....the stuff with my cats that died, my son being harrassed blahhh blahhhh.
All of that tied in and stuff..uhh, just drew me away and not wanting to bother.
I can't be lumped in with people like that. You think fans do not make a difference but in this case they did. And i know i am not the only one thinking this and i know others feel the same way.

I have been a member her now for 8 years and i used to like everyone here. But then "it" happened and blam....things changed, fans changed, i saw the true colors and frankly, it freaked me out.

Sorry for the novel. I usually don't post much. Take it for what it is.

You can disagree all you want but going as far as insulting me and others because you don't like their opinions.. and calling people names..etc.. picking people apart because of opinions or just because you don't like them just plain sucks.
There are going to be people that do not like the music, DEAL with it.
