I actually like V. But the songwriting was not great. Fortunately I don't require great songwriting to like music, good enough can be enjoyable. Even if some of the lyrics make me want to barf, I can still enjoy it.

That album in particular had some questionable lyric choices. But if you look through the catalog, EVERY album has some weird lyrics.

My favorite gripe is how Ed "got so religious" and "started singing about water all the time". I often wonder if the people who make those complaints ever listened to Mental Jewelry. He's been doing that since DAY ONE!

Great point about MJ. And to me, my first taste of Live, and still my favorite of them all.
