I'm pretty no one in 2014 considers Greek Mythology spiritual.

Whether anyone practices Greek Mythology in 2014 has no bearing on its spirituality.

After hearing this for the first time, i've found myself almost screaming of excitement.
This must be the best Live song in the past 15 years (With al my respect to any other song, i love Live and i like every album).

Thankyou Live, thankyou, for helping me remember how great you really are!
This has to be the lead single, this would do very well on rock radio i guess.

It's amazing on how a good recording can make a song sound so much better. I think this song is way better than the current single out! It definitely has a hook and I dig the contrasts in the sonics! Instruments come out clear and I think Shinn sounds very good on this one! SO...I dig it (have in the past), and think that the song helps to promote a NEWER Live and sound of where they are, right now. Even the intro in the beginning! Good choice to have the background assistance on the song. No real complaints about this song. For a few brief seconds, I felt that jolt of 90's excitement. music.gif

Yeah, that's what i actually meant to say, i felt the spirit of Live again in this song.
TWAIT is a great song, but Siren's Call has so much power, epic.

I know! After hearing this, I haven't been so excited for a Live album since shortly before V (which means before I heard anything on V).

It's such a dark but powerful song. It has power in a new way, hence "new" Live. I like it.

Random aside - note the last arrow on the album cover is pointed in the opposite direction? I just noticed that.

I gave it one listen so far. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a solid 6. Anyone else think The Way Around is the better (more memorable) song? --I give that one a 7. I could sing some of it after listening once, anyway.
I'm not to the point of analyzing lyrics and I don't think there is any point to compare it to old LIVE or try to see what prior album it fits with. shrug.gif
Of course the song would rank higher on my scale if they had a stronger vocalist. I don't think the megaphone was necessary. Am I mistaken or does Shinn use that thing a lot (live performances)? With what Frasbul said, I think the megaphone contributes to the unnaturalness.

Love the song. Wish Ed was singing it, but honestly he would never write anything like it and would probably waste the riff with the same tired old shit . This would be a song about water or Zion.

Love the return of the rock sound and the new direction. This is a much needed course correction for the band. Makes you wonder how good Live could have been for the last decade if they would have poured their hearts into the music as a group instead of letting Ed run wild at the controls. That's the real tragedy.

Hope they have good success with Chris so they can expand the tour in the future and make a local stop.

If you long for the days of Ed don't worry. His next Christian pop album is already in the works.

Instead you got Taylor Swift break up lyrics.

I like Siren's Call, but I don't think it really sounds much like Live, it sounds like a TGF outtake. The Way Around is Through (which I formally move we call TWAT instead of TWAIT because it's funnier) sounds more line a Live song to me.

I'm trying not to want to hear Ed singing them.

Well at least I'm not alone in this sounding more like TGF than Live.

Why can't Live have a song that sounds like that? They were finally totally free in the writing process. And we finally received 2 solid songs. I think it's not too far from TGF for some reasons. Taylor uses way more open tunings now like a lot of the TGF album. That makes Sirens call darker maybe and I can understand the link. It must not be too far anyway, same people involved.

The line after the guitar solo is amazing. Intense! Exactly what was missing from Live all these years. Last time I had these goosebumps was in Where Fishes Go: " I couldn't take anymore, so I went back to the see...

There's a buzz among the Live fan community I haven't seen in a decade!
