Seems like Ed decided to ditch the guys and make crappy music on his own so he wouldn't need to split the profits, and so the guys laid into him pretty hard with a bunch of bullshit, and maybe got some money for it, took a huge chunk of the fanbase, sought to ruin Ed's rep, and got attention for their future projects.

If the House of Blues show and Summerland tour is any indication, they lost a huge chunk of the Live fanbase in the process.

Am I the only one who doesn't care whose fault it was anymore? I like Ed's music, I will listen to that, I live Live, I will listen, TGF, sure, that too.

Its over, who gives a crap at this point? We all know there are three sides to every story, and the third one never comes out.

I agree. But sinny and the gang just can't let it go.

They are so butt hurt that no one got anything that they just can't move on.
No one does care anymore....just them.
Ed is doing fantastic and they can't stand it.
I'm sure the band will do well whenever they put out some music.

Fact - There are not more fans right now than there were during the TC era.

I would say my issue with Ed is the actual music. It's a few gems with a ton of misses!

Quite frankly it's true that Ed has gained a few thousands fans since going solo circa 2006. However, his musical direction and thievery from his old band-mates has caused him to lose MILLIONS of fans around the world since the TC era.

At the end of the day, I'm sure he'll keep his 10,000 fans or so around the world happy with his happy-go lucky Christian wanna-be pop music. I guess that's all that matters to him.

sure i'd like to know what happened, why not? All the motives and details of the contracts, so I can have all the facts and see what all the fuss was about.

Here's a theory....maybe when Live's music got worse, Ed realized that splitting the money 4 ways was not going to leave him with that much money. Ed probably wouldn't be able to get by easily with his family unless he kept credit for his songwriting. But all 4 guys probably made some pact in the beginning to stick together.

So ever since Ed gave CCP an ultimatum and broke that pact, CCP probably realized that eventually they would be better off leaving Ed. Still, if CCP left quietly, they probably wouldn't be able to generate enough interest for future projects. They would fade away just like all other bands whose lead singer goes solo.

Chad Taylor needed to become a more recognized figure, and make big waves if any of his new stuff had a chance. So CCP probably highlighted some parts of Ed that really didn't matter to the guys at the time, but would look bad in the public eye. It's possible that they technically had a legal claim, even though it was never an issue while they were in Live. All to make headlines and maybe some settlement money. They might have also went on this smear campaign partly because the guys hated how Ed wanted to keep more of the profits. Ed can survive on his own celebrity status, but CCP needed to raise the awareness.

Since it can't really be helped that his musical direction changed from TC, and that he got alot flac even though the thievery claims were probably bs, it seems he's doing amazingly well for a 90's act who now writes adult contemporary and plays solo acoustic shows.

Saw Ed acoustic, liked it. Saw TGF, liked it. Saw Live twice in the 90's, liked it. Saw Throwing Copper 2013 Atlantic City online, did not like it. Nothing against Shinn. Maybe if they just stick to new stuff, but yeah I know that's not gonna happen. Either way, respect to all of them. Just wish they'd put aside their differences, get back together and get back to basics.

Fact of the matter is Shinn is not the same level of vocalist Ed was when we all fell in love with Live but neither is Ed of today. He sounds like a completely different singer and has turned off most original Live fans which is why the fan base has dwindled down to almost nothing.

At the end of the day, Ed does not own the rights to Live and the rest of the guys do so they can do just about anything they want with it. He may not do the original Live songs justice, but I'm definitely open to what they have to offer moving forward with new songs and records. It's pretty sad what Ed has become and he should never be allowed to be the front man and represent Live ever again.
