No even Chad Gracey recently stated that Ed wanted to get the band back together, but CCP wanted an apology and didn't get it.

There are no conditions under which they would work with Ed right now so you have that wrong. The odds of them not doing Live at all are greater than working with Ed. If it's anything less than enjoyable then they just aren't going to do it. They have lives outside of Live that are fulfilling and they'd just as soon spend time doing that. Maybe someday they can repair their relationship with Ed. I hope they can actually. Then maybe we'll see the "proper" reunion as you refer to it. It will be some time though and it will require dealing with all the scars of their fallout. All that is just too fresh right now to even think about getting together.

I think they spent a lot of money to sell out HOB AC and prove to Ed they could be just as successful without him. They fell well short.

They aren't trying to prove anything to anyone.

You are the trying to reason with a man-child who thinks WWE and WWF is real. I can't help but feel society is utterly fucked when you see these arenas filled with a bunch of Nicks watching that garbage. Talk about mind cancer.

Nah, I know it's useless. It's just for those that may not know any better.

Again, that's only based on your definition of success, which probably isn't the way CCP feel about their success right now....I also think there was way more going on than CCP trying to prove anything to Ed.

You are correct. They wanted to prove to booking agents that they could still fill 2000 plus capacity venues.

they toured with TGF in front of very small crowds and they completed their tour and play it as professionnals all the time. Why do you think they care THAT MUCH about booking agents. Any group that can tour in front of 400-500 for all their shows for me it's still very good....and we were way more than that in AC.

I really liked the show. Yes, Chris forgot some lyrics or mixed them up, but the band sounded pretty good from the balcony. From my calculations, it looked like there were between 1400- 1800 people there, so not a sell out, but more than 400 people. The opening band sounded terrible, however.

TGF completed their tour but never toured again.

I'm sure that CCP wanted close to Live touring money without Ed, and that looks very unlikely now. The rumor was roughly 400-500 paid, and the rest were comps/contest winners.

So that leaves about 1400 comps. Yeah, that seems feasible. So I wonder who's calculations are off?

1400 comps?!?!?! You're insane. I work at music venues and not even with the worse selling shows have I ever seen 1400 comps or anything even close.

Nick,

Really, I try to see both sides objectively, talking about the pros and the cons of each side. Ed tours well, his voice is better now than it was a couple of years ago because he stays more in his range, his version of POD I saw 2 weeks ago was actually good, but his music is not my cup of tea, but can enjoy some of his songs.

Last saturday's concert was not perfect. I agree with some of the things on the review you posted. But it was still a special night because some of the songs were performed for the first time in maybe more than 15 years and we, as fans, appreciated it alot.

It's like you always want to find THE thing that doesn't work to bring CCP in the mud to the advantage of Ed. You can't want a reunion when you talk like that. I don't want that myself as I think that Chris Shinn, despite of course not being Ed of 1991-1998, is a really nice person that gives justice to the Live songs. He is a down to earth person and there wasn't a person more mad at him than himself for missing a bit of TBD. You don't agree with this, fine, but go listen to the Pillar of Davidson of Saturday and try not to find THE thing that annoys you, just how good this version is. I think this one is really difficult not to enjoy as it was a highlight for most of the people who were there.

I want your thoughts, but say something positive about them sometimes, after all you've been a fan of them also for I don't know how many years. You can't just throw them in the garbage for everything they do.

Who confirmed that attendance was at 1800? The only thing I can say for sure is that the show was nowhere close to a sellout despite an extra hard push from CCP. It actually may have been the most self promoted in the history of the band.

I think that CCP were valuable members of Live, and very good performers on stage. Along with Ed, they formed my favorite band on CD and in concert.
