Right, so they could just go away for 4 years and show up and sell out the venue with no promotion. No guarantee they would have done any better with Ed, possibly worse. You yourself noticed that things were not right with Live back then. You're not the only perceptive fan. In fact, you were late to the party. Fans had been noticing that for a while and were not following the band the way they used to. The troubles in Live manifested itself in many ways and by 2009 things were not good. They were due a major shift in things at that time and that is exactly what is happening. That's why so many welcome this new direction, contrary to what you say.

No promotion? They promoted the hell out of the show last night. The ad ran on Facebook constantly, and I even saw it on the Pollstar website. Not to mention Chad Taylor appearing on WMMR radio the day before the show.

A nostalgia show would not have sold worse with Ed. Live is strongest with the four of them on stage together whether you believe it or not.

Again about sales, you have to stop...Live played for probably 8 years even if the band members were not happy together. Did you want that this hypocrisy continue for another decade? I'm not taking side, but i like it better that they do their own things instead. It's better for everyone personally, even if the show wasn't sold out....it was far from empty.

Opening act was really bad, singer was just off, because the music was actually good. The problem was that the singer stood alone on stage for a while when he was being booed already...his bandmates must have hd a discussion with him after the show.

Go see the lightning crashes of your lord Ed in Atlantic City in July and tell me after who is the cover band. The version we got yesterday gives way more justice to the song than Ed's version.

It's not only the fact that Ed only spits the song, it is the cover band behind...the sound and everything... Really not good....better if he does it acoustically.

Numbers...numbers...numbers, you must dream about them... It wasn't sold out, but we were way more than 400...anyway by the number of shirts they sold after the show people were happy about it, but you decide the numbers you want to talk about, right?

I dont really care about the numbers game - which Ed is probably winning at this point...but i do think if they only had 1/3rd capacity for an historic show it would b a dissappointment for them for sure.

Having said that; they sounded good i dont see how anyone could say top was terrible? Chris really needs to learn the lyrics BEFORE he performs the songs tho & it looked as tho Pat D was looking down at notes too...

The band sounded good despite these things.

Ed usually always sounds good lately but in my opinion LiVe and Ed are only both covering LiVe songs right now.

Chris doesn't know them, or seemingly appreciate the depth of feeling behind them. And not but the most ardent fan could adequately step in for Gracey and make LiVe songs sound good.

So even tho Ed wrote all the songs (barre 3 or 4) apart from himself his band is not as good at LiVE as live is... eh.gif

If that makes sense.
