Did you read the Chad interview? Its far from a certainty than new Live music from Shinn and CCP will ever be released. THat being said, thought it was a great interview and Chad came across as very thoughtful and expressed his desire to play vintage Live material in a way that I can respect and understand.

I will not attend a full TC show to watch someone else sing Iris and Pillar of Davidson, but can respect the band for wanting to perform the songs that they helped create.

Hey, would you look at that. A thoughtful, honest post. Take note Nicholas.

For what it's worth, when I see the name Live in an article, performing or referred in a magazine, it is the 2013 Live that I consider, so no problem with Shinn signing all TC's songs. And if they set a show for October, they plan to be ready and deliver. It will be great.

Live is turning into a tribute act with a cover singer. It is a shame.

To me, this shows a lack of faith in the strength of the new material, and a desire to be a nostalgia act rather than focusing on new music and new fans.

If it was within 30 minutes of my house, I might consider checking it out. But I have the feeling that it would just feel wrong.

Do you not believe me when I saw I think Ed is a huge sellout and a shell of what he once was? And that its ridiculous that you once hated Ed but now consider him a god? That's as honest as it gets Nicki.

And playing your biggest album with a cover singer in concert isn't a sell out move?

Stole my idea, but made it lame. Shinn had as much to do with Throwing Copper as any of us did. Very sad.

I think it's far more likely that CCP came to the conclusion independently to play throwing copper in it's entirety. Also, you never mentioned this idea specifically, you just mentioned an anniversary show, it's a little different. They're so old, things like this are just what old bands do, I think you are setting expectations way above normal. This is on par with where they should be in their careers, they're doing pretty well to have as much attention as they do right now IMO.

It is highly suspicious of them announcing this show, when I mentioned the idea the week before.

To me, them doing a Throwing Copper tribute show without the person who wrote all of the lyrics and most of the music to the album, comes across as lame to me. The 20th anniversary of Throwing Copper takes place next year, I wonder if this is a test show for them to have a full tour.

Of course they won't do a tour in which they play only TC. That is a one time thing and they just want to have fun and share it with their hardcore fans. Stop to dig dust about it, you're far in their thoughts.

How can you say of course? It makes sense to do a Throwing Copper tour to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the album(well it would if all four members who created the album took part in the tour).

Well Nick, you're welcome to keep the reunion dream alive, and speculate that the band members decided to take your idea and modify it, and feel that the TC show is uncool with Chris singing. Sorry to hear that LiVE is not in your favor these days. All the luck to those who are really digging the band right now!

I've never heard of a tribute or cover band that has 3 of the founding members of said band still in it...you're a fuckin' joke dude.
