I disagree 100 percent with that statement. Shinn is copying Ed down to the megaphone(but is missing Ed's voice and charisma).

Nick you are absolutely correct, thank you for the clarification. Shinn is missing Ed's voice and charisma. But to truly copy Ed, Shinn would have to do the following....

- Cut off his own balls so that he can sing in constant falsetto
- Shave his chest and walk around without a shirt (that is the charisma that gets you going isn't it?)
- Put Gracey back in plexiglass
- Steal from the band
- Become an egomaniac
- Forget rock music, lets go christian pop!
- Open up a website and start selling coffee, pendants, $250 phone calls, art scribblings
- Claim he was in a band that he is no longer part of
- Screw over your best friends
- Want me to keep going........

But that damn megaphone, what a copycat! Ed of the MJ/TC/SS days I once had respect for, now he's just a joke.

You can't deny that Chris tries his best to sound like Ed from the 90's, growl and all(and falls short). The fact that he is the vocalist for a Throwing Copper tribute concert is a total joke. He didn't contribute to the album, and he is just going to try to imitate the album recording. It is a bit sad.

I thought Chad Taylor said he didn't want Live to become a tribute act anyway.....

Somebody must think Ed was the first to bring a megaphone on stage.

It's not like Ed didn't try copying Rock\Rap coincidentally when Limp Bizkit was popular. It's not like Ed didn't copy hundreds of frontmen with the sunglasses. It's not like Ed didn't copy Bono with the goggle glasses looking things in the TDTH acoustic shows. Ed has been copying trends for awhile and is still doing so.

Chris is copying Ed cause he wears shoes on stage!!!

When was the last time Ed played a concert and didn't sing any songs that he helped create?

You are one of the minority that think....
- Ed is still god
- Ed still writes good music
- Live will get back together with Ed
- WWF wrestling is real

The majority of people that have seen Live on Summerland think different. Facebook traffic for LIVE in it's current state prove it. At the one show i've made so far I saw nothing but people that were totally impressed with the new lineup and made comments like "this band hasn't rocked like this since the 90s".

Don't know his recent setlist. But he's done all sorts of covers. He also got a band to play songs they had not part in creating.

Chris joined an established band.

Basically, here's what you expect out of CCP:

CCP should have just given up on the band they've spent nearly 30 years in because one member quit. They should never ever ever play any live song again unless that one member wants to get together with them and do so. Any attempts to replace that one member who quit means the new guy is just a copycat.

Again, what would you do if you we're c,c or p? Just abort 30 years of work, catalog, history and branding. Shit, Ed left the band and won't even give up the work of live. Yet, for some reason you think CCP are supposed to?

And now a serious post....

Dan if you want any hope of this board every coming back to any form of respectability you would do the following (as much as I don't like dictatorships it might keep the peace here)....

- Keep the people that obviously don't like LIVE with Shinn out of the LIVE threads
- Keep the people that don't like Ed (myself included) out of the Ed threads. For example in the past on occasion I will admit I used to post in the Ed thread and it wasn't positive thoughts typically. But eventually I said hey I have zero interest in what Ed is doing and I haven't posted in the Ed thread since November 2012? See some of us can have self control at times. Others (no names mentioned) obviously cannot and get off with constantly stirring up shit. Yes it is more subtle then it used to be at times but Dan you are no idiot, the troll still likes nothing better then to troll in the LIVE threads
- Let people post OFF topic topics in the OFF topic zone

The other option that you know what the band probably would support...
- Archive the LIVE threads, close them down
- Do the same with the TGF threads
- Rename the board Fans of Ed and make sure to change the banner

I have heard positive and negative reviews of Summerland, and the constant bannings on Live's FB page attest that not all people are a fan of this new lineup.

LIVE FB traffic is up because they are spending a lot of money on FB ads. How do I know this? Because their ad pops up on my FB page page. I have also seen them perform on TV and to me the band lacked chemistry, and it was the weakest performance that I have ever seen from Live.

Wow this one particularly is a low blow...lack of chemistry? Sure. If you want a fake group hug during Lightnng Crashes to prove that there's chemestry in this bans, then you're a fake yourself.

The TV show is really enjoyable for being a Rock and Roll Show! Is Shinn's voice perfect? No! But there are guitars again and the rythmic section is as efficient as ever, and happier than ever. Have you seen Pat play lately, how he smiles and looks just happy to let it go. You are out of arguments buddy...again!

No the main argument is that Chris Shinn is playing Throwing Copper from front to back, and that wreaks of a cover act. My opinion was the band wasn't as good as I have seen them in the past. Chris Shinn is doing an Ed K impression, and not a very good one at that.

The Live songs are still great, and the other bands on Summerland are weak, so they fit in well. I think Shinn could perform Live songs with Ed's band and still get a decent reaction on the tour. The songs are that good.

And Shinn's interpretation can't contribute in any kind? I like the fact that he gets closer to the recordings, but he gets better with that. On the TV show, he does a bit his own on Operation Spirit, a very solid song to play with them. iris is very good as well. Lightning Crashes looks fresh for the first time in 10+ years. Lakini's Juice now has a chorus that reflects the intensity of the song, not to mention White, Discussion. You're hard on Shinn. The songs are written that way, of cours he just can't go out there and do completely different.
