No, don't go. Things will get better. I promise you. I have tamed down a bit. For the most part i am a sarcastic bitch and sometimes that gets me in trouble.
I agree with every single thing you said.
And you're right on the nose with what you said about me and why i get so defensive.
I am genuinely a nice person. I just get so annoyed by it all just like you.
Everything was sort of okay until a certain person started coming around stirring things and getting too personal about what's going on with the band. [no names] and i know a lot would agree.

What is so strange is nick and I are only 2 people on this message board. Nick is a great guy. I like him. He has never done or said anything mean to me or anything that has ever pissed me off. I respect him so much because he takes so much yet he's still here. I wish i could hold my tongue like he does. lol
It boggles me how grown men let another man get under their skin..i mean, they don't even know the guy but they hate him so much.
I see the hatred and it also makes me sick sometimes. If you remember, i have been here for years but i never even really posted here until like 2 years ago.
I can't understand how some people can be so vicious.

While we may not agree and love all that has taken place we do not deserve the way we are treated. I know at times i get out of control but it's usually for good reason. I never said i was an angel. You see my avatar? That is my Tat i got yearsss ago. [It's under my fuel one...lol] I got that because i love this band. They played a huge part in my life. I can't help it if i don't feel the same as most do. I will get the cd [when it comes out] and if i like it , fine, and if i don't, that is fine too.

Please don't let this nonsense bother you anymore...it's just not worth it. thank you for your post. it's very heartfelt. hi.gif

Thank you Diane. I hope that for the sake of this band, we can all just let this simmer down.

Those people left because they were either banned, I asked them to, or they just got sick of Nicks continual shitting on the band.

You see, it's one thing to trash a abnds music, and quite another to come onto a site EVERY day for YEARS and take shots at a band. It is hurtful, inciteful and illegal in its defamatory nature. People hate Nick because after all that Ed has done to his bandmates, he continues to pile it on and that is EXTREMELY hurtful to all of us who still love LIVE, regardless of who their singer is.

They are trying resurrect their band and at every turn, he tries to belittle it and shoot it down. All I truly want is for people to mind their own business. for those who no longer like Ed? Leave him and his camp alone. Same goes for LIVE. Each side responds in anger and it only incites more vitriol for new fans to see when they come to check the band out. I don't think that is helping Live or Ed any, in fact, I'm pretty sure it is causing people just to walk away and not want to get involved in the dram after even a glance.

Thank you Diane for agreeing to leave it alone, that is very helpful and respectful of you. I would like to hope that everyone else will lay off her as well.

Did you read this post too BOB? Where I'm apparently here to "STROKE" Nick and Diane? It really is a shame, all of the fighting that has gone on. I've been in these position before, and it IS possible to redeem yourself. See, at one point Diane, I was being attacked by EVERY single member on this forum.

Dan? Seems to me just being guilty of being caught in the middle really. But the guy at one point was nice enough to mail me a DVD across the planet at my request and pay for the postage. So I know he's a good sort. See the STROKING there BOB?

Anyways, my entire point has been that all of this nonsense on various social media outlets does nobody any good. Not Ed, not Live, not us, nobody. People have their opinions on who they like, who they don't like, hey, a lot of people don't like me. But in that spirit, I'd ask y'all that you don't plaster my name everywhere on the internet in a negative fashion.

Speaking of spirit, one thing this band taught me over the years was to be more tolerant, loving and forgiving. That spirit has caused me to evolve into a much better person. Somebody that I can look into the mirror and love and respect most importantly. I've lost a lot of that respect for various parties lately, but one constant has always been my love for this band. So I've kindly asked all parties involved to let it die before it becomes normal. None of it is helping anyone involved, meaning the only point of it is ugliness, hurt, grudges and lots of fcuking childish bullshit for new fans of the ban to walk smack into like a brick fucking wall. All I've heard are excuses for both sides and I'm not buying any of them because there is no excuse for any of it.

Let Dan run his site in peace and Jimmy his. Live and let fucking Live, or did none of your parents actually teach you fucking people that? Anyways, sorry Dan, this will be my last post that goes off the topic at hand.

Show Review: Summerland Tour 2013
By: Matt Ellis

Art Alexakis and his nostalgia-fueled ‘Summerland’ tour returned to Columbus on Friday night, offering up four hours of guitar-fronted anthems plucked straight from 90′s alternative radio.

This years tour featured headliners Everclear, along with Live, Filter and Sponge, and while it isn’t as strong a line up as last years tour the four bands certainly provided value for money and great way to see in the first night of Summer.

Opening act Sponge played a short and gritty set. Lead singer Vinnie Dombroski did his best to liven up the LC crowd and got the show off to a highly enjoyable start and provided the crowd with the first instantly recognizable song of the evening with “plowed”.

Filter started off their set with a bang as singer Richard Patrick ran off into the LC lawn to pick out fans to create his own private crowd surf pit. The intimidating front man has lost none of his earth-shaking roar over the years and he and his band mates put out an intense set, including a new song that had all the ferosity of classic Filter tracks.

Live were welcomed onstage by an almost defensive Alexakis, claiming that “everyone goes through changes”, referring to new front man Chris Shinn. In fairness to Live it really wasn’t needed as the new front man did a stellar job of leading the band through the songs he had no part in making famous.

Live finished thier set with “I Alone” which ended up as an all-star jam as various members of the other bands took to the stage. For the next couple minutes it suddenly made perfect sense why this tour is such a good idea when it becomes all about the music, friends and one last time to be a rock star in front of a an adoring crowd.

Unfortunately, a lot of the LC crowd went home before Everclear took the stage, perhaps those that were here for last years lackluster performance. Those that did stick around got to hear Alexakis’ voice back in fine form. His angst infused gruff vocals are still able to carry the bands hits but he and his band tend to look like they’re trying a little too hard to still look relevant into today’s alternative world.

Just like last year the band ended with an another all-band romp through Santa Monica, and yet again it served as the perfect ending to the Summerland show.

The 90s were the last great era for alternative bands, and with so many nostalgia tours currently out across the US it’s obvious that these bands are still loved by many and while their importance has diminished over the years, the songs are still as enjoyable as they were back when we first heard them on that mix tape your best friend gave you all those years ago.
