I say hello as well, and have no ill will towards anyone. If you look at my comments concerning CCP, they are almost always in response to something negative said about Ed.

The break-up is over, it is time we all move on. The new Live will be touring this summer and fans should enjoy it for what it is. Comparing it to the past version of Live doesn't make sense and is counter-productive.

So does that mean you won't be continuing the campaign on facebook and twitter to talk about what a subpar line up it is and going out of your way to mention that it's Live without Ed?

Cos you know, besides Live, I really don't care for any of those bands either, never liked any of them .. I just don't feel the need like you do to go around trying to bad mouth anything Live is involved in. So I take it all of that is going to stop from you now that you have made this comment smile.gif

I posted on FB initially that the lineup was weak, because I honestly felt it was. Summerland had a decent line-up last year, and I feel this year they took a step back instead of forward. Everclear and Filter only have their lead singers remaining from the original line-up(and both frontman voices are totally shot). Live has a new lead singer, who I feel is very average, and I know very little of Sponge.

There is a market out there for a huge 90's Alternative tour that could pack in the sheds, they just need the proper headliner and support acts. Summerland lacks the headliner this year, and I feel the Under the Sun Tour lacks that needed headliner as well.

This year's lineup is way better. Makes much more sense. Last year maybe Everclear and Lit had similar fans. Filter still sounds great by the way. Sponge does too. Not sure about Everclear but they will draw plenty of fans as will Live of course. Should be a great tour.

I thought this year's Big Day Out festival had a weak line up, I didn't feel the need to go and spread shit online about it and whinge. The only reason you did it was because of anti-Live sentiments. So don't give us crap about "its time we all moved on" when you're far from doing that yourself.

I would have no problem with Ed opening for Everclear. I just feel that Live should never open for Everclear. Live sold many more albums than Everclear, and Art is the only remaining member of the original band.

Summerland last year played Sheds and larger venues, this years version is very much scaled down. Live with its original lineup could tour the majority of venues on Summerland this year solo, and fill them.

You're grasping at straws as usual. Maybe after touring last year they decided it was better to fill up smaller venues vs partially filled large venues. Nobody is selling as many tickets as they used to. As far as headliners, that is always an issue on tickets with multiple headliner quality bands. It's Art's tour and you'd expect them to get top billing. Does nothing to diminish Live for their slot. It's a festival tour, not Everclear tour.

Art said in a recent interview that each band will get to perform "maybe 8 songs". So I am guessing the set will be:

Lightning Crashes
I Alone
Selling the Drama
All Over You
Lakini's Juice
Dolphin's Cry
1 new song
and 1 other Live song?

Not quite as predictable as an Ed setlist.

a mixed setlist will be played during summer I'm sure. Shinn needs to play alot of songs from the catalog and they can't leave White, Discussion in the closet. So I'd say for 10 songs 6 classics, 2 new songs 2 obscure songs not played in years.

Is that all? That will be a pretty disappointing tour if it's true :/ Have you got a link to the interview?

When Live disbanded in 2009 they were filling Summerland sized venues solo. Opening for Everclear on the 4th or 5th largest 90's nostalgia tour of the summer is not going to "rebuild the brand" as you say.

It all depends on whether or not they ROCK. If they crush it, nothing will stop them. If they're not that good, they will not rebuild the brand. I think it mostly depends on what Chris can do.

Well we all know that's not going to happen. The Summerland tour is a nostalgia tour. People are going to go to this show for a greatest hits performance and so they can relive their teenage years. To perform a set of 100% new songs will not go down well at all.
