Thanks for egging me on. Did you envision in 2013 that Ed would be playing two free shows in a casino corner lounge with a full band?

Everclear is playing those very same venues in March before they headline over Live.

This concert series that Live is participating in will most definitely expose them the right way.

It's certainly better than playing in the most obscure free venues where the "audience" is too drunk to realize who is even on stage.

by touring with 3 bands whose best days are behind them and only the lead singer exists on all 3 bands I'm not sure it's exactly the best exposure. Live hasn't had an album out for 7 years and now have a new singer who will sing all the songs Ed wrote along with some new ones. It doesn't exactly scream we're back but that's me. And if you don't think people will be trashed at Summerland you're just being silly. Ed has been selling out all his shows so to gripe about obscure free venues is being petty.

If I had to guess, more than 70% of the songs played on this tour from Live will be from Throwing Copper + Lakini's Juice and then maybe throw in a Rattlesnake or Freaks. Not much different from what Ed is doing. We will see though.

I truly hope to hear more new songs than old. But I'm with you on the expectation. Its a 90's nostalgia tour, I dont expect any of those bands to come out to showcase new music.

I'll be at the Atlanta show. Verizon is a pretty big place. I wonder what kind of crowd this mix of bands will draw.

People drink and get drunk at concerts??

In all seriousness.. Dont alcohol sales account for a very large percentage of revenues at these places? I know they'll have my contribution.

Generally speaking, what drives folks to attend concerts such as these? Is attendance at these shows pretty good? For me, I will attend this one because Live will be there. I have no interest in the other bands, and dont plan on staying around for whoever follows Live.

I would definitely need to get really drunk to enjoy one of those free small corner of the lounge shows.

To anybody who plans to attend one of these shows, please feel free to start a thread in the Tour Date forum - and make sure to return and write a review! rockin.gif

Before I say this, let me make it clear that based on everything I've read and then filtered about the breakup and the lawsuit, I have sided with CCP. I loved 90's Ed, but yea, he went downhill. I still enjoy all their albums in one way or another, obviously some more than others, but I don't HATE any of their albums. I do hate how Ed sounds now when he sings LIVE songs. He sounds so different - and not in a good way. Shinn on the otherhand, makes me want to hear more. Not saying I am totally sold on him, but I think there is potential there. I could go on and on. But anyway...

Was I the only one that cringed when I watched the promo video for Summerland and heard Ed singing? How could this happen when CCP is fighting, and I think it's a legitimate fight, Ed over his misuse of the band name. Isn't using the original recordings of the songs in the promo video with Ed singing kinda misleading? Am I missing something? Are they free and clear to do this? It just seems kinda weird after what they are suing Ed for. I find it hard to believe no one on their side said, wait a sec, we might want to use a different clip or a different part of the song.

Again, I am pro CCP, but this one kinda surprised me. Can someone explain.

Yup. Those are definitely Shinn's vocals and not Ed. It is amazing how well CCP played it off without using Ed's face in the promo.

Can't even imagine the uproar there would be if Ed released a tour photo with CCP in it. wow. They should get a handle on their marketing team as well since they are so ready to throw stones at ED. Just my two cents.

They didn't release this as their tour photo, it's an old photo that Ticketmaster is using. It has only been a few days, give them a break. As these things are discovered they'll be more than happy to clean them up.

Do you think Sean Hennesy and Alex Lefever will be joining Live on tour? Does Candlebox have any tour dates during this time?
