It is a much weaker line-up this year. It looks like Art Alexakis is just trying to find 90's bands that he can headline over.

What's the lineup been like in previous years? Is the Summerland tour a comprehensive US tour?

As of right now there are 3 90's based tours scheduled for the US this summer:

1. Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox Twenty

2. Under the Sun Tour: Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Vertical Horizon, and Fastball

3. Summerland: Everclear, Live, Filter, and Sponge

Mark Mcgrath of Sugar Ray and Art Alexakis of Everclear started Summerland last year, but had a falling out so they split their tours up(and diluted the concept).

By a mile.

I think order of success will be:

1. Goo Goo Dolls/Matchbox Twenty(by a large sum)
2. Under The Sun
3. Summerland

The problem with both "Under the Sun" and "Summerland" is that each tour lacks a legit headliner. You need that big band to close the evening and bring in the crowd.

Counting Crows, Live, and Collective Soul for my money was still the best 90's headlining tour that I've seen. Counting Crows brought in a good chunk of the crowd, and Live really put on an amazing show!

I just know that I'd like to see Live and MB20 this summer. Hope they both come through ATL.

No interest in any of those other bands.

Im not a Sugar Ray fan at all, but what happened with Art and Mark? What caused the falling out? Either way, Im just happy to see LIVE get some tour dates out there. Album ready, or not.

wish GGD would play more material from 1995 and prior, Id go see them more. Their recent material is pretty weak. m20 always bored me to death -- so I'll be skipping that tour.

I just think Art is basically just impossible to work with. The changeover in Everclear bandmembers is constant and the guy has been married about 4 times. By splitting the tour into 2, they just watered down the concept.

There is also another 90's tour for the summer(Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five, and Guster).
