QUOTE(FishOutaWater @ Apr 24 2012, 10:03 am) *

This is based on memory, so i may be a little off on the details, but i have a pretty good memory. Jimmy got Nick a meet and greet pass for a show. In the concert review thread after the show, Nick posted that Ed was a jerk to him, he blew him off, and Nick stated that it was because Ed was all drugged out. Jimmy and others told Nick he was out of line and was making assumptions about something he knew nothing about. Nick was insistent that Ed was obviously on something. Nick just wouldn't let it go. After many warnings and arguments with various people, Nick got banned from the message board.

haha I remember that, the irony now is great. I think Nick's official stance now is that "everyone makes mistakes" and just glosses over it.
But even back then, how pig headed was he. He gets something in his head and he just decides that it is 100% fact and he has people deeply connected to situations screaming at him that it's not true, and he doesn't even entertain the possibility that he's wrong. Its obviously an un-diagnosed disorder of some kind. Also the fact that he just wouldn't let it go, things never change I guess! Nick was indeed banned, history should repeat itself!

I would like to comment on Ed's I Alone tour. I hope this thread does not get closed.

I just want to say that I have watched the youtube videos of some of these recent performances, and it makes me mad. It makes me mad that Ed is changing the melodies to these great songs with a American Idolesque vocal runs and he is dancing with his hands in the air, shaking his booty with smiles on his face. Playing with a drummer who is using cardboard boxes. And he put Gracey in plexiglass for Pete's sake. What the h*ll is going on here?!?! This is a travesty and a farse. There. That's my review of the I Alone tour. The guy is pooping on the legacy of Live and it needs to be stopped. I am getting so passionate about this. I am ready to work hard to starve Ed's career into submission. When Live with Chris Shinn gets up and running, this thing is going to come down to a musical showdown at the OK chorale. CCCP need to hurry up and get moving so this thing can ignite.

Good comments Fish. I'd like to add..these things that are easy to see are the fanbase's main points of objection with the way Live went down with Ed going. All these sell out, controlling changes killed this band. Toyed with the main success factor. Bringing in humble Shinn was about bringing back the working environment which led to success musically. Others are looking at it with the wrong objective, but those never got what Live was all about in the first place. When an artist changes with the wind, he really has no direction about what to do anyway....it's about keeping the cash register ringing.

Loved reading your story Livebat. Glad you got to go and I can so see Ed looking beyond you, checking out the girls. He is so slimy.

And for all the shit we heap on Ramy (I do not find anything exciting about his drum playing) he does seem like a nice enough, sincere guy.

And far out on the goss about our friend Nick. What a suck job.

Sorry, I had to quote my own post, but Pokey, remember I told you about this? Here is where I posted this story!

QUOTE(+Ed+ @ Apr 24 2012, 9:46 am) *

I have been holding back after I read this all. But now I will give it out.

Remember when TGF performed in Holland? I was going to hop over, when I suddenly faced some issues with time and money, so I had to miss the gig with my friends being there... However that is not what I wanted to say.

When I posted it on FB, wioshing guys good luck and simply stating "Too bad I can not be there to support you and show the love", I immediately got a message from Chd T, saying: bud, how much money do you need to come over?
I was in a sincere shock to receive a reaction like that.

I am not a beggar. I do not receive THAT much money, but if it had not been for some other issues, I would for sure hop over, so I just thanked him from my heart and said it was not needed.

But just a thought. I never asked and was offered. Just the other side of the coin I guess.

CT was a great show as well. The smaller venues fit an acoustic show much better. Set was the same, save for Dance With You replacing Shit Towne. My favorite new song is Angels on a Razor by far. The other two new songs are pretty good, but no where near Angels on a Razor.

He did an acoustic shit town, anyone got a video. I'd be interested in how that song translates to Ed of today.
