Although I fall squarely in CCP's camp, I don't agree with "hating" on Ed. I hope that they all can find an acceptable resolution to their differences and hopefully leave this all behind. Maybe they can salvage some type of relationship going forward. Even if they don't, I hope the animosity will be gone.

Me too. I don't recall you being so civil. But it's finally nice to see.
I think the ed hating clan just needs to stop it.
It really make the others look bad nevermind themselves.
I didn't lose respect for anything chad or the others have ever said or done regarding the situation. It was the "clan" that made me be disrespectful towards them.
And that sucks because i do still support the others.
I just want "certain" people to leave me be just because i like Ed.
I'm basicly a nice person..I just go off sometimes same as anyone else when someone talks shit.
Anyone get me? I have nothing against any of the band members.

I've been involved in some of the heated exchanges on here but I'd like to think I kept things civil. Things get way too personal and I don't like to pass judgement on anyone. At the end of the day I think we can all agree that the situation sucks. That's a commonality that we all share. No need to say much more at this point other than I hope they can lay things to rest in a mutually agreeable way and move forward in a more positive light. If so, I think the divide will narrow and things can remain civil between everyone.

Ed likes to be on the road more than ccp do. If they leased the name to him, and took a percentage of the shows they could make a nice profit without lifting a finger.

I eventually see ccp selling the live name back to ed at some point down the line.

I don't. Stupid statements like this are what emptied out this board.

Ed left the band. He should get nailed for using the name under false pretense.

Nailed in what way? CCP have had access to the Live name for the past 4 years, and have basically left it to rot. At least Ed has kept the name in the public conscious with his acoustic shows.

I'm pretty sure he'll still be referencing Live in some way after they work things out. Here's the thing, how long do you want to refer to something you accomplished 20+ years ago? It would be nice to see him establish his own name enough that people will just know who he is. It seems okay to reference it in someway as he's getting established but a prolonged usage of that just seems sad.

I think it makes sense to embrace your past. Ed's work with Live is what most people know him for. Using that as a springboard to introduce your solo material to long time fans makes perfect sense.

If The Gracious Few were able to use Live/Candlebox songs to introduce their longtime fans to their new material, I believe they would still be around touring today.

Sure, but year after year of that and you're no longer embracing the past, you're living in the past. He should move beyond that eventually.

Integrity is what I think CCP do have more than EK. The Gracious Few was TGF. Ed K is a mix of him and Live stuff. CCP decided to tour this way and it was really a good idea to try and sell only your new brand. I strongly believe they didn't care about getting in the radar more, or else they would have covered Live/Candlebox songs.

Ed can play old Live songs as he wants. He is a former member of this band name. But he is not willing to make a step forward to try to sell his own brand...sad.

He wrote all the songs for Live. There is nothing wrong with performing material you created with Live while performing new material along with it.

I didn't say he shouldn't perform Live songs, but if he is still doing the same thing he is today 5 years from now it will be sad. Eventually he needs to move beyond "former lead singer of Live and hits such as Lightning Crashes" to just Ed Kowalczyk and his sets and promotion should be less Live oriented or he'll just be living in the past.

All the lyrics, a good chunk of the music.
