That's what Carl Bell said about Fuel after he threw Scallions out.

Pretty sure Ed doesn't really care about money at this point. Otherwise he would'nt be doing free benefit shows.
He didn't do anything to the band. The band was pretty much done even bfore the crap started.
Frankley, i think it's childish as hell what they are ALL doing. They need to grow up and move on.
Eds rep is far from tarnished. He is doing shows, writing, recording, people love the guy. Have you seen his facebook page lately? Umm yeah.
You ed haters can do your best going around stalking people trying to recruit new haters but it doesn't even make a dent. lol.gif

Good summation the ed haters carry on about him trying to make money left right and centre whereas he's actually releasing free music, selling digi albums only for a few bucks, doing benefit concerts etc. Ccp look like they are doing this solely for the $$$$$. If they are trying to highlight the fact he is not part of Live anymore I think that has clearly already been achieved and further Ed has advertised himself as a solo artist for ages anyway. ccp are clearly trying to wring a few extra bucks and it seems silly to me - when he advertised 'of live' during his first round of acoustic shows, weren't they on a 'hiatus' anyway? Not to mention he was actually benefiting "Live" by publicising a band that has had virtually no prescence or airplay in australia for ages. I would think the value of the "Live" trademark was substantially greater after Ed did his acoustic concerts and released Grace - it got Ed all over the radio here for months and introduced Ed (and consequently Live) to many of the younger generation who have no idea who they are. This whole messy lawsuit is only going to damage both Live and Ed can't see the sense in that....

Good for him. This will never happen with Live, guaranteed. Even if they wanted to (they won't), they have too many people around them that would never let that happen.

Ed is no longer part of Live. He's (still) using the trademark as if he was. He can either stop on his own or have the law enforce it. Plain and simple.

In other words, proceeding will be a waste of resources and time for all parties.

Wrong. Summary judgment establishes liability. Once its determined who is wrong, a settlement on the damages end is far more likely.

The whole lawsuit is so petty, it makes all four of them look stupid.

It really does. I mean, a band name? Seriously. Ed was in live and pretty much was the one that people recognize the most being the voice and all. He should be able to use it any way he wants. They should all grow up, stop acting like children and just move on. Use the name, trash it...it doesn't really matter.

Unfortunately this is how the business side of music goes, and not just for Live. Once they get these things settled everyone will be able to move forward. I don't expect them to get back together but I do think the animosity will subside.

If CCP just dropped the ridiculous lawsuit, they could move forward right now. They have access to the name Live, that should be all they need to be somewhat successful going forward.

You know, I could say a bunch of stuff about Ed but I won't. Dropping the lawsuit would not resolve any of the issues they have with Ed. The one thing I will say is that if Ed would have negotiated with them from the get go this could have been avoided. But he stood his ground and here we are. This is truly a business issue and although they clearly have had personal issues, the business issues have prevented them from healing their friendship. I believe they will settle at their next meeting and they will begin the process of mending their relationships.

Yep. Both sides have to handle things as they see fit. I see resolving these issues as progress. It sucks, but as they can chip away at the things that divide them they can begin to repair their relationships.

Although I fall squarely in CCP's camp, I don't agree with "hating" on Ed. I hope that they all can find an acceptable resolution to their differences and hopefully leave this all behind. Maybe they can salvage some type of relationship going forward. Even if they don't, I hope the animosity will be gone.
