We all have given Ed his due for the early years. His success was based on the the other 3's contributions and likewise. THey all worked 'together' to make Live what it was - EQUALLY. Ed wanted to take over and make it all his own. It was a complete and utter failure. They guys are not letting the band go down like that. Back to basics and Chris Shinn.

Nick, just come out and say it, say that you can't comprehend, understand or appreciate anything that CCP brought to the table in a musical or creative way. Just say that to you all they are are vessels to support Ed and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and another backing band behind Ed doing Live songs (no noticable drop offs!) We all know it's how you think. The only worth you see in them is a window for Ed back into using the name Live to make Ed more money. Other than that, you just can NOT see any worth in them, can you?

And this is a guy who claims to be a Live fan, a guy who thinks he has as much right to be here as anyone. Sad.

nick is hard on the facebook posts where TGF asked the fans what LIVE/CB covers they wanted to hear. Yeah that was way before they even toured. We got like 3-4 pre tour shows with LJ and Far Behind, then they decided it was best to stand on their own with their OWN TGF Music. They succeeded at this!! It proved how dynamic they are with the orginal stuff. So let me shut down that theory for what it's worth, more BS.

Also the difference in performers and how they are able to objectionably view themselves with no ego. KM realising that his vocal style just doesn't suit a song like LJ. Ed absolutely not being able to see his Backstreet Boys version of I Alone is terrible and continues to play it.

I saw them do Far Behind and LJ. It didn't change the show one bit. In fact, the versions were different enough to Live that they didn't have the affect you are imagining.

You mean the shows that you never went to and therefor can't judge the energy from?

Finishing the shows with a rocking version of Honest Man gave the TGF fans a show closer to remember.

I actually did complain that they covered the Live songs, I remember Fish and Funky were very against them doing Live songs. We all preferred them to stand on their own. I personally didn't like the LJ cover much (still better than Ed's version now), although I quite liked the Far Behind cover.

So, what we have learned from this thread is that you have downgraded an outright claim, a statement of fact that CBox told TGF not to cover their songs, to it just being your opinion that you think that's what happened, however you have absolutely nothing to base that on as proof or evidence. Nick's credibility strikes again!

The show I attended was a mix of Candlebox and Live fans, but was 100% TGF fans. No one was there to see Live, or CB. One lady kept calling out for a CB song, and KM reminded her this was a TGF show. I may not have complained, but I did not need, want, or expect to hear any Live songs -- I was there for TGF, not a Live show. Live wasn't there. They are DIFFERENT BANDS. Why is this so hard to understand??

Make TGF stand on it's own and it did. I mentioned that in concerts you can hear folks asking for CB songs, mostly Far Behind. Kevin has been up front in saying, we are the gracious few. And you're going to hear TGF.

Kevin singing Live didn't work at all. I assume he could sing the CB songs

I'd rather hear them doing their own material anyway. Quite frankly, I haven't heard a song from TGF that I don't like yet.
