In other news. Here are some facts for all of us to take in:

1. Live is now CCCP, thank you very much.
2. The current Live band has no Ed Kowalczyk as a member
3. Said Ed Kowalcyzk has backstabbed his friends of years
4. That's fucked up (well this isn't a fact but should be a common conclusion and opinion to most logical people who value the concept of loyalty, honesty, and integrity)
5. The guys won't come on here because of a certain someone(s), no names mention or I would do so quickly in the nick of time too!
6. Wine can be bought at $50 a bottle
7. Water is a common theme for Ed's lyrics as he admitted on stage in York
8. Another song about water, but this one has dolphins in it is also another introduction to a water song as introduced onstage at the York show
9. I hope the NY Times Best Seller's list gets written and I'm not talking about ghost authoring with respect to a certain Daughtry song either Ed.
10. I tip my hat to you old friend, the bridge was burning, I merely made sure it collapsed. Thank you for the show in York at the Pullo. Sorry I couldn't stay for the full set, my ears were bleeding.

And no Dan shouldn't have to change how things are run here so the guys will post here.
IMO, the guys should be big enough to not get drawn into the petty shit that happens here and visit all boards where true fans exist.

I'm confused as to how I can be both to you?

I've said this before, but not repeatedly, so maybe you actually did miss it and aren't just ignoring my white flag.

I will not join WD cos it's an exclusionary board and I'm not a fan of such boards... I never have been.... end of story, I am allowed to feel that way, yes?
And since I know you so well, you're likely to say, why does that mean CCCP should have to post here because I won't post there.
It doesn't.... it isn't my reason at all for saying they should post here.

I don't think of WD as exclusionary. It only excludes 2 people, and for good reason. In my experience it has been a much nicer, more informative and civilized board than this one since it was launched. And it actually focuses on Live! I think it is definitely worth signing up to it and participating on FOL and WD.

I think it is quite telling that Jimmy Lang has taken such a strong stance against Ed. People who do not take CCP's side in all of this should take notice of that. I think that should speak volumes. He was a friend to ALL members of the band and until just a few months ago, when I had a phone conversation with Jimmy, he didn't seem to feel this strongly about Ed, just based on my own impression from the conversation. I was actually a little surprised (and continue to be) when I see Jimmy expressing such strong feelings. I hope I am not speaking out of turn here. Sorry Jimmy if I shouldn't be disclosing my thoughts about your position on this. This is just my independent off the cuff impression, but it seems to me that Jimmy apparently must have learned more about the truth over the past few months and that seems to have formed the strong views he seems to have now. And that should tell anyone who doesn't have the same insider view as Jimmy and OTD an awful lot. I don't know any more about this stuff than anyone else about this, but I take meaning from that and it shapes my view of Ed. I don't always agree with haw "forcefully" they state their points on here, but I trust them as a barometer for the truth a heck of a lot more than Nick.

Regardless of why, people are excluded. It is a private board where not everyone is welcome.
My feelings about private boards were developed many years ago when I felt differently and actually did the private board thing.... it just isn't for me.

And it's fine that not everyone is welcome, JL has every right to run his board the way he chooses, just as I've always felt that Dan has that same right.

Thanks Fish, I know my delivery sucks sometimes but rest assured my message is dead on. Regarding my thoughts on Ed, I wouldn't say it was just in the last few months. I'd say it started to surface around TDTH and then really made itself known during V, BoP, SFBM with each album release progressively stronger. I think when it hit me in the gut/face was right after the last show and during TGF run pretty much solidified my own thoughts on the matter, with the "hiatus" of Live. True that I haven't really made it known because I just haven't been online in Live forums much after SOY, so while it might appear in our conversation that the feelings were strong only in the past few months, they've been there for quite some time, growing stronger year by year and album by album tour by tour. It's like watching a sand castle during the day. At low tide everything's fine, but the closer you get to high tide, little by little the waves melt away some of the structure until full on high tide, it's nothing like its former self. Ed truly wrecked one of my favorite bands.

Ironically though, not all doom and gloom!! The addition of KM/SH and TGF and now with Chris in the picture it truly is a breath of fresh air and it's quite possibly the best thing ever to happen to the band. So while Ed pursues his solo career (and I wish him well with that), I'm excited to see things are back on track for Live.. this time the sandcastle will be built far away from the water line and no high tide to worry about.

How do you know its exclusionary if you've never really seen it though? The ONLY stipulation it asks you is - do you at least want to see Live with CS succeed? If you're answer to that is yes, then it might be the place for you! The only people outright excludes are those who answer no to that question.
You don't HAVE to post to view it, you can sign up and lurk away, its not amazingly private, the screening process to get in isn't exactly like arriving at JFK
