Wow, good points. I never thought of it like that... I'm serious, you have me re-thinking my evaluation of Ed on this one. I've always just assumed he provided his fair share or more of the Live power, but I'm re-considering that.

Though you did point out some examples of bad lyrics, especially that "puke stinks like beer" one - I never liked that. But you have to give him credit for AOY, I Alone, and some of the other hits from TC. I'm assuming here he wrote those, correct me if I'm wrong. And I have no idea what a lot of those lyrics mean, but they work really well. In fact, I've always assumed his lyrics were over my head - perhaps they're just bad.

But like you pointed out, how much of bad lyrics was covered by good music? I had just never broken it down like that and you provided good examples. Very interesting.

Anybody feel like adding up every single water-related reference in all of Live's lyrics? I am talking about, water, fish, rivers, dolphins, swimming, river banks, carp, etc. I bet there are a lot.

I remember I did a count up of the word "like" in the sense of using it as a simile, no surprises it was very, very scarce in early Live and began very common in latter Live, SFBM to be exact. To me, that was the height of lazy writing.

Pokey, this might be a little bit too much for certain trolls to follow, can you clarify what a simile is please? and please don't use a smiley to do this. They get easily confuse like, you know. when you like say things like this and like that and they get turned around like and it's like they won't understand until you like explain how a simile is not like a smiley but like is used all the time like for instance in songs like the ones on the albums... and like hurricans and tornadoes and like shit like that um.. yueah... thank you Pokey!

Fish, jolly good man. You have read my mind. The power trio make it unique, If you strip away the lyrics and simply listen to the music, you'll still get chills...... but i am not trying to rewrite history....there are some fantastic lyrics from the collaboration period.

And now that I've thought about it some more, I agree with OTD ("there are some fantastic lyrics from the collaboration period.") - there really are some awesome lyrics from that time; WWITD included.

I know you said that the EP will have a physical release in December, but I've never seen a single story or facebook post by Ed that says so. I swear it looks like it will be exclusively digital.
