Yeah, they're on their way to redeeming themselves after voting for Bush, not once but TWICE!

Feel exactly the same way Dan, could not believe he was elected twice.

Well actually the first time, in 2000, Gore won the popular vote and Bush was selected by the US Supreme Court, imo.
I became so disillusioned with the whole voting process after that.... but still continue to vote.

QUOTE(Live4Life @ Nov 6 2012, 11:43 pm) *

Well, like i said, i don't vote.
Mainly because i don't understand politics at all.

But you can read right? And with luck maybe along with reading comes comprehension? Most intelligent people I know, if they don't understand something, they strive and seek for understanding. Guess you don't fall in that category. Sad to know that so many died to bring us the ability to vote and protect that freedom every day and yet people are are just so uncaring about it all. Tragic really. Meanwhile, in oppressed societies and governments around the world, people long to be free and have the gift that we have as a free nation. They no doubt would fight (and have!) and kill for the opportunity for change and have the same freedoms and liberties that we do and other free countries. Musical tastes aside, if you don't understand politics even at the local government level, at minimum at least read up on the general election for the presidency and understand the candidates' position on important issues. Be a better person, a smarter person, understand the process and vote and be a part of what keeps this nation great and moving forward.

QUOTE
Someone told me i made the right choice because if i don't understand there really is no point in voting.

That someone would have done better to at least talk to you and educate you on the candidates, their main issues, their plan for the economy, healthcare, defense, the ever growing national debt etc... and urged you to learn as much as you can so you can make an inform decision and be a part of the process that will define the direction of this country for the next 4 years. But hey, I'm sure you are into self growth and you've got 4 years until you vote in the next election.

If you are too stupid to vote, educate yourself. Stop using damn excuses, stop being a lazy piece of shit. Figure it out and vote. It is not difficult.

Short and succinct. Thank you for putting it bluntly.

lol.gif Usually I'm compliant as well but these postal ones threw me. First time I haven't voted. Some years I even hand out party flyers/how to vote for the Fed elections. No Pokey, not for the Australian Sex Party - they were beside me though eyebrow.gif

So now to think up good excuses...hmmm....

I think it's an appropriate time to repost this as a reminder that no country is truly great until you've had a leader who is still skulling beers at sports events well into his 80s:

Well done America. Also, I think you definitely have a right to complain even if you didn't vote. I think you *should* vote, but personally, even if you didn't, you should still be able to bitch about the outcome.

True, but if you're bitching and someone says to you "well if you feel so strongly about it, why didn't you vote against it?" then you really don't have much to say in response to that.

Because the other option wasn't any good either. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still facilitating the rise of evil to power? As I say, I'm not advocating not voting. I just think it's stupid it's suggest people who didn't vote shouldn't complain.

bob is my dad's hero. He's pretty cool but don't like how he treated poor old Hazel and that crazy lady he is married to now.... bomb.gif

Of course MMD - but do you think Aust Post would lose 2 of them? But I will try that one for sure lol.gif I'll just say I sent them from Ressa!

I agree with you Merica - we always have the right to complain about who is in govt coz they are always fucking something or another up even if you did vote for them.
