And trust me, iv'e done my research big guy. I didn't say anything about them being talked of here...i said something about their forum that they used to have. As i said, i could tell many stories about LOT'S of bands ...but as i stated, Not my place or business. I would never betray people that trusted me. No way. You don't know jack shit.
Edit, i actually did feel real bad when the record label went under. That sucked. At least he gets his royalties now.

The whole "not many singers can go on stage with an acoustic guitar like that.." Is just fucking laughable! That just goes to show how small a music world Nick lives in. There are god knows how many that can do it, and do it better than Ed. They can tell interesting stories while they do it or play guitar 100 times better than Ed or sing without their voice cracking. Aitkens said it right, Ed just regurgitates the same shit over and over on stage. It's predictable and boring. Of course the audience scream for him cos they're made up of women who had him on their college dorm walls in 95, and Nick who would cheer Ed farting into the microphone for 60mins.

Point is, Ed was a great performer in 91-99..but, not now. He isn't doing anything special or unique, if you think he is then your view of music is EXTREMELY narrow.

I was countering a point which was factually just wrong. That not many can do why Ed is doing now. That is just wrong and the view of someone who has absolutely no idea of what world of music outside of about 12 bands. Also that Ed has a great stage presence, you may like it, but it's just not true, it just makes you easy to please because you know what you want (the same shit over and over) and he is serving that up. I can't dispute your right to enjoy shit, but I can dispute that it is shit. "Oh hey how about we shake our money makers to this one - *plays The Distance and can hit half the notes*" Oh gee Ed we haven't heard you say that since last night!!

Not to mention the solo shows I saw a few years ago where he told the same story on back to back nights and both times when the audience boo'ed because he mentioned another city he acted all surprised like "oh I didn't know about the whole Melbourne-Canberra thing". Talk about being spontaneous and organic on stage, he either has a bad case of retrograde amnesia and couldn't remember the audience booing the night before or he just has this lame shit planned out before he walks on stage.
There are some performers who are totally spontaneous with the crowd and don't regurgitate the same shit over and over. To me it is more laziness by Ed and the fact he looks out into the crowd and just sees people as big $ signs that will follow him like sheep where he has to put minimal effort in to get their money.
In some ways I'd like to see all you guys leave him because maybe that would force him to put some creative effort in do something different.

I think so Dan. You know the way these things go by now, someone made a comment about the uniqueness of Ed's performance which warranted reply, can't just reply to it in its own thread. Its not THAT much off topic, it's to do with Ed and his new EP (might) get played in concerts. its not like we went from talking about Ed's EP to the Lithuanian national Basketball team. Of course if you feel that people who have no interest in Ed shouldn't be commenting here at all then... You know how we've felt
