Not many artists can go on stage with a guitar solo?? Are you serious?? I guess when your mean deviation is about 12 acts....you can make up shit like that...... WOW no.gif

They can go out, but not many can entertain for a sustained period of time. Ed's an excellent performer(whether you think so or not).

How many solo acoustic Kevin Martin shows have you seen?

Kevin's voice hasnt changed since they started out.....it's the same powerful crooner. Some may not like it but you cant tell me Ed's the same singer..... please old woman

Same powerful crooner? Yeah, if you like a feminine sounding voice. I love some of his stuff but man, you can''t compare him to Ed. There's just no way.
I truthfully never really noticed a change in eds voice but then i don't pick everything apart like most of you do.
OLD WOMAN?? WOW, there's that resorting to name calling thing again. classy.

Some call it "stage presence", I call it embarrassing.

I went to see Aaron Lewis solo a few years ago. That was good. He sat up there on a stool the entire time. Played some of his favorite songs, took some requests. Made fun of a few requests, and it was a great show. He didn't prance around, didn't have scripted fake banter with the crowd, and didn't pelvic thrust.

Good lord, i love aaron and have seen his acoustic shows too many times to count but he gets very BORING. Ed does the same things. As for pelvic thrusts, umm , i don't see him doing that much these days. Ed has incredible stage presence imo. Far from scripted. Don't worry, i'll give you my review when i see him in 2 weeks. If there is something i dislike , trust me...you'll hear about it.

I used to enjoy Ed's performances. But that's years gone. Martin isn't into the solo stab your friends type of music.

Ed does acoustic gigs for money...it is understandable and honnestly he is still good when he doesn't try to reach stupid high notes. In his range, he has a very good voice tone.

Ed and KM...different voices totally...hard to compare...but people who don't see the change in Ed's voice must be deaf. Listen to the versions of the SS songs in the songs given last week in the multimedia section. Rattlesnake and LJ are perfect examples of what Ed WAS doing at that time. Really...take a listen if you think Ed's voice hasn't changed. He can't do what KM does and that's fine, different style. Why always compare like this?

Right before taking the stage...

EK, "hey what city are we in?"
Stage hand, "Cleveland."

EK walks out on stage...

"Whats up Cleveland!"

later on...

"I really love coming back to Cleveland!"

later on...

"This song is about sex on the beach, the act, not the drink, lol"

totally disagree during the last 5 years of the band....even during TDTH tour, everything (including the setlists) was done almost exactly the same way at the same time (ex: speaches during POD and Imagine)

I haven't seen him in his solo journey though.

I think we have all heard;

Keep calling Montreal (or your city), we'll keep coming. The band WAS predictable in the last 12 years.

Must say that the live performance of Rise is way better than I thought he would do. I can say the good when there are some.

Nah, i'm not deaf. I just don't sweat the small stuff. His voice didn't really change that much for me to cry about it.

Also, real quick, Kevin Martin is a great singer but yeah...for those who don't know, he DID leave his band and had another on the side called kevin and the hi-watts. There were some stories way back when on their board about all that but yeah...like i said, i don't sweat small shit.
Well, I try not to. happy.gif

Their site still up but the forum is gone.

Just too add, i did hear things here and there but you see, it wasn't my business so i kind of just avoided things that were not for me to discuss. Wish some people here would be like that.

Um, no, he didnt leave his band. They took a hiatus. They needed it for many reasons...Do some research. We've talked hiwatts here, but you didnt look hard enough to write your rebuttal
