It's just a port of the Cd... that's disappointing. I was hoping it would have something... anything different. sad.gif

Hopefully will receive my copy this week and will try and compare it to the CD version to see if there is anything remotely 'audiophile' in the production.

It's exciting tho, with the new album around the corner (hopefully), this release is almost perfect timing.

More LIVE. More LIVE.

Unfortunately, due to Radioactive's involvement or non-involvement, getting anything 'band authorized' (pre-2006 if re-released) is gonna be tough vinyl-wise.

According to Universal and MOV it's a legit re-issue. Whether the band benefit from the sales is anyone's guess.

I'd happily pay for any music LIVE put out on vinyl. 'Cept SFBM.

^This. Unfortunately for Live, the labels do not need their approval to make more copies, or sublicense to other labels for distribution. I'm sure they'll get a cut from the sales, but authorization is not needed to press it.

A bit off-topic but somewhat relevant: Counting Crows have just re-released August and Everything After on 2 x 200 gram 45 RPM vinyl!

Probably audiophile.

Wow.

This day I was looking in the vinyl-part of a great music store in Amsterdam and was more than surprised --> nr 688 of the MOV reprint of TC was lying there.
I had to buy it, didn't plan to order it but this opportunity / chance I could not resist.
It shows: 180 gram audiophile vinyl.
It also says: Exclusive Limited Coloured Vinyl.
Finally at the back it says: Original release 1994 Radioactive Records. This Release 2012 Universal Music B.V.
I Hope that tomorrow I can put some pictures on the board.

nice. Yep, Radioactive is now owned by Universal. For what it's worth, Universal is one of the few major labels going back and repressing a lot of older releases. MOV has done several 1990's and older albums, and Hot Topic has re-released many 1990s and newer albums.

Looking forward to seeing how that copper color turned out. Hope my copy shows up soon smile.gif

As much as I love vinyl (especially colored vinyl, and especially Live vinyl), this one worries me. We're talking about a 60 minute album on just one record. That can't sound good. Plus (correct me if I am wrong) the original vinyl version only had 12 of the 14 songs. So where are they getting the masters for this version. Are they just pressing the CD version onto the record? Still, I might be tempted for copper.

Was it Horse and Pillar of Davidson that was not on the orginal vinyl?
If so, any one know why the great song POD didn't make it to the vinyl?

Usually songs are left off vinyl because there's not enough room and they don't want to spend the extra dollars in adding another LP.

Yep. And on some pressings both POD and Horse did not make the cut.

Sad but true.

Just checked on my (Black) original vinyl of TC: Indeed, Pillar of Davidson and Horse are not on this one

Just saw on the Sound Stage Direct site that this item is discontinued. I emailed to find out what's going on, but now I'm worried I won't get one. I'll let you know what they say. If they can't send it, does anyone else have an idea how I can get a copy in the U.S.?
