Just got back from Ed's concert in Jackpot. It was a great show and he really rocked! Anyways I got a good sound recording of I'm The Proof which is much better than what is currently on youtube. Ed also stated that his EP will be released Nov 19th.

This could be a reasonably touching song if Ed and CCP split amicably and he'd said "guys I want to make more christian based pop-rock" and they said "oh .. well, we want to make some harder edged rock and get back to our roots" and they parted ways and this was a song detailing how like it or not, he's changed and that's just the way things go sometimes. You know, not a good song, but endearing in it's own way and heartfelt even if poorly constructed.

But, as we know it didn't go that way and all I can think of it "yep, people change, once they were stand up guys, then they steal from their friends, become money obsessed and go from an amazing song writer to less than Idol caliber" and that just ruins any kind of niceness the song may have.

But hey, at least his voice was holding up and nice to see a video where you can work out and hear what's going on, good job to lakini18 for that ... gotta have SOME positives right??

At times he doesn't sound bad, at others (notably a lot of The Distance) he absolutely butchers it. I'm also not totally comfortable with the loungey venue but that's what he's doing these days, so whatever.

thank you lakini for that video. this version of the song is much much better than the clip Ed posted. and I am pleasantly surprised at Ed's voice. he should never play with that backing band. ever. again.

Glad most of you are enjoying the video. I really enjoyed Ed's concert. I know there are a lot of mixed feelings for him on this board, but as a long time Live fan I really enjoyed the show. I saw Live twice, once during the Secret Samadhi tour and once not too long before they broke up. I too was wondering about this venue. But this to me was the best out of the 3 shows because of the venue. There were not tons of people there and it was just Ed doing an acoustic show. Every seat in the place was a good seat. I would guess about 300 people there or so. He sounded great in person and he even took time after the show to meet the fans and sign autographs. He singed my Throwing Copper CD, tickets stub, and Alive CD. He took the time to let fans take pictures with him and talk to the fans. I recorded the show and will try to post it later.
