He could have done so much more on this song. But it is still one of the few songs I can still listen from SFBM because there's a little something different.

Because you have no idea as to why Adam is no longer playing in Ed's band. Just like you have no idea how many seats venues in NH have sold for Ed's shows. smile.gif
I think possum and funky alluded to it. I'm sure you wouldn't get the truth if you asked Ed.

Honnestly Since Chad T isn't that good as a guitarist it is not that difficult to replace the guitar parts.

That's not true. We're not talking about the 20 year old kid back in the 90's. If you can't tell how much he's grown as a guitarist, you need to pay more attention.

Honnestly Since Chad T isn't that good as a guitarist it is not that difficult to replace the guitar parts. But even so they butchered Lakini's Juice big time without even having the good guitar parts...Screw them.

As for the rythm section it takes good players to fill for Pat and CG. We all know thet PD was castrated since probably even TDTH on some tracks. I'am looking forward to hear him particularly in the new record. He is THE man in Mental Jewelry and from MJ to SS it was the rythm section that was holding the songs, not only Ed's voice.

I would argue that CCP as a whole aren't technically crazy good musicians (PD probably having the best chops of all of them on his specific instrument), BUT they each have a very specific style that really makes Live what it is. You take something out of that equation and the songs just don't sound the same. CT's guitar playing is wicked cool, and he also knows how to select awesome tones that much his playing. The things those three play together are what makes Live tick, and that's why Ed's band's performances of those songs (and nearly any cover) always sound off.

I know that CT improved since, well, hard to say... the split? Since he maybe rediscover the art of playing guitar with Sean Hennesy. And I've been saying that SS particularly could have been even better with a couple more solos. I don't want you to interpret that I don't like his style or anything. SS is plenty of tones that makes it special. I'm just saying that the rythmic section was the best combination in Live.

I also think it's a matter of space. Was Ed really giving the spot Chad T. deserved.

I fuckin' love a good guitar solo but I've never thought that was CT's gift. I can understand that as I am an awful lead player but very competent as a rhythm guitarist. Shoot I even play a little bit like CT. rockin.gif

This is what I have a problem with, I do respect AK, but I just don't think he's that good. I think from my interactions with him that he's a great guy, really humble, and he is a capable musician. But I just don't think he's anything that special. I don't see how just not being a fan of someone's music but liking them as a person is not showing them respect. I'd be showing less respect if I lied and said I thought he was utterly fantastic and a first rate world class musician. I don't think anyone said he was terrible or sucked, he doesn't. I'd rather see an AK solo show than an EK one at this point.
