QUOTE(Lerxst @ Oct 9 2012, 9:19 pm) *

There's no belief in it.. it's a fact! It is absolutely deceptive practice. Ed of Live is a typo. Ed from Live is also a typo. Let's be real here. Chris is the current singer of the band Live. If anything people should walk around with a bumper sticker that says "formerly of" and slap that on all the deceptive promotional material around Ed's shows. It's not a wonder certain parties are upset about the use and violation of branding rights.
Surely that's a rhetorical question. A better question is to ask oneself the true motive behind a setlist and whether or not it caters and tailors itself to make money. "Moving on" takes the money out of the equation and that is CERTAINLY not the case here. Money motivated? Yeah, I think the answer is clear.
Absolutely.. it's factually correct.
Of course. And he has a right to to that's not the issue here. It's HOW it's used.. I think the title of this thread says it all.. if you need help - the word "deceptive" should be a clue into the marketing aim.
We all know where the buck stops... at the top.
Well we can start with a street team full of bumper stickers that correct the typos! That's always a good start smile.gif

What's amazing is the defense of some on the wording.. I mean seriously.. You want to talk semantics on words like "of" and defend positions of "voice of" and "from" etc..etc. ? Seriously? I almost expect Bill Clinton to come out be a part of Ed's legal defense team (he is a lawyer after all) "Well your honor.. that depends on what your definition of IS is"....

Let's all call a spade a spade shall we? A blowjob is a blowjob.. and on the topic of who is the singer for Live.. Chris IS! Not Ed. So at least let the marketing reflect that and respect branding rights and such.

guys, let's face it. If there is no respect in some of us for what there IS, why not have a tiny piece of it left in what there WAS. I love it that Jimmy is around and I enjoy his posts very much. But so long to the things Ed does.

The only thing to at least stop the thing that is called 'deceptive marketing' is plain and simple: our band touring. I doubt the wait will be much longer. It all will soon begin!

Ps and Lang! Why don't you befriend me on facebook? I love your pics! tongue.gif

No LIVE in the billing for Maryland and only side view seat tables left for the show:

That's a freaking dinner theater style venue. That's not the big Rams Head facility in Baltimore. That's one of their much smaller dinner and a show facilities.

I would like to know how in the hell that does that not count as Live billing? That is the sole write-up underneath the title of the show. How in the heck is "With over 20 million albums sold worldwide, Live is one of the most successful and enduring alternative rock bands of the last twenty years." related in any way to an Ed solo show and not related to Live? This is just patently ridiculous!

Um, isn't he?

The title of the show reads: Ed Kowalczyk "I Alone" Acoustic.

FIRST - no that statement you quoted is not accurate. Isn't he? NO. Wasn't he? YES. That quote should read "Ed Kowalczyk was the singer and songwriting force..."

These are not semantics. Words mean something and I am sure these words were carefully selected by whoever wrote them to give the impression that Ed continues to have a connection to Live.

SECOND - you completely ignored my main point about the language that I quoted so that you could try to twist some strained meaning that isn't there out of the language that you wanted to quote.

Darn it - see there you go - I just violated my vow not to engage with you. It's easier said than done.

But THIS post by you is exactly why Dan should ban you. You were either (1) Lying to be a troll, or (2) Demonstrating an active anti-Live agenda. But your last two posts here are not even based on reality and that should not be permitted on a recurrent basis over a prolonged period of time.
