Dude I gotta say, I don't think I've seen anyone change their mind/opinion has much as you.
You're pro Ed then you're anti-Ed then you're never ever leaving the forum now you're leaving etc... You seem to form an opinion based on what the person above you generally posts



I'm with Funky on this, it's some entertainment. "Oh he should do this or he shouldn't do that, lighten up he can do whatever the fuck he wants just sit back and watch it unfold. I still firmly believe Ed deserves anything publically said about him. He deserves to be named and shamed, it's punishment for things he's done, so should CT say things? Maybe, maybe not, but it's still the lesser of 2 evils if he shouldn't.

The "stupid" lyrics for the dolphins cry sure helped benefit the whole band and if Chad hated the lyrics for deep enough so much, why did he allow it so appear on V? Seems that CCP defenders on this board are scared to criticize

Chad Taylor has written in a past blog that he wanted Deep Enough to be the first single off of V, but the label screwed up that plan. He needs to get his story straight.

If he hated the lyrics for The Dolphin's Cry so much, why did he have Chris Shinn sing it in concert back in March?

To be fair, Deep Enough was one of the better suited songs as a single from a really bad batch. It's like saying you'd rather have aids than cancer. Or you'd rather lose your arms over your legs. So he probably wanted Deep Enough as a single over shit like OK? Plus lyrics aside, Deep Enough is busting with energy, he was probably proud of himself and the other 3 guys attempt to salvage that wreckage burdened with those lyrics.

TDC comment was a little more ambiguous, I read that more in how Ed would approach them with song ideas.

I think you need to read what CT said again. He wasn't making fun of TDC, he was mocking Ed by saying he would pitch the close to the same song again except that it would be a ripoff of Hootie.

It wasn't exactly amazing comedy but it's pretty obvious he wasn't making fun of TDC. Now Deep Enough? Yeah he was making fun of that.

I'd rather get the honest and unpredictable CT that sometimes says too much than the scripted Ed that either dodges questions, gives generic answers, or flat out lies through his teeth.

+1 WD i'd rather see passion in life and if that involves venting your frustrations well thats a bi-product...all be it some times embarrassing...sometimes an insight

See now what you're doing is you're trying to make sense of the post to work out exactly what CT means. You don't do it like that, you have to misunderstand his post and create what you think it means then you hold him to that standard and have a go at him for something he didn't say/you invented. if I recall, CT said Deep Enough should be a single because it was on a major motion picture soundtrack... maybe I'm wrong but I think that movie was a moderate (monetary) success that spawned 4 sequels to itself...
maybe not a bad idea to use a song appearing in such a movie (and not at the end credits, but in a mid movie scene if I recall) as a single...

anyway, CT said that in his chapters of his book he let us read (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that the label was stupid for ignoring Deep Enough. He never said it was a well written song.

as a side note, I've always enjoyed the song. its ridiculous just like jealous guys are
