QUOTE(MintyBloke @ May 27 2006, 3:37 pm) *

Well, myself and my wife are fans of Chris and had previously never heard of Live. We thought Chris was great but were blown away by the guy he was singing with. A few minutes on the web and we now know he's called Ed, the band is called Live and they have an new album just out. So I've ordered the album plus Awake - the best of Live.

I for one am very grateful they appeared on AI, otherwise I may well have never come across this band. I can't wait for the albums to arrive and hear more of their tracks. thumbsup.gif

How great to read that!! Welcome to the land of LIVE!! smile.gif Once you hear those CD's, you'll be out collecting them all I'm sure! thumbsup.gif

I have to agree...... LIVE is just incredible, I've always been a sucker for some meaningful lyrics which is probably why I fell in love with Absent Element. Actually, I fell in love with a little band called Cadence that Mr. Daughtry was in. He wrote there too. It was the lyrics that hooked me then, and still hooked. I've been a LIVE fan since Throwing Copper and once I found that, I found Mental Jewelry, and then all the rest. Make a budget cause I'll tell ya right now.... you'll be buying more LIVE. LOL

You mean the AI performance? It's still available here for downloading, right?

I told some friends that I went to the LIVE show. They had no idea except they said, LIVE as in "LIVE that was on American Idol?!?" Then they knew, lol.

At least there's a lesser chance now of getting blank looks when mentioning live. lol.gif

"NO.... I mean it IS LIVE"

Exactly. "WHO are you going to see live?". I have heard that so many times. Woul dhave been easier if they were still Public Affection, which was a horrible, horrible band name.

Not a bad performance. Wish that contestant wasn't in it. He tried too hard when he sang his parts. Shouldn't bag him too much, I guess thanks to him LiVE have found all these new fans as well as sparkling interest (both good and bad) from existing fans.

I liked the shirt Ed was wearing!

Forgot the "quote" button: Exactly. "WHO are you going to see live?". I have heard that so many times. Woul dhave been easier if they were still Public Affection, which was a horrible, horrible band name.

Have you ever noticed, too, that when you do a search on many sites, such as Ticketmaster, and type in "Live", you get anything and everything but the band Live. I just did a search to see what pops up and the first thing is:

the American Idols Live tour, followed by

Bad Habits Live
Portland, ME
Billboard Live
Miami Beach, FL
Comic Strip Live
New York, NY
Deep Ellum Live

There are 27 on there and not one of the band Live.

If you put in "the band Live", it always says, they cannot match that to any band. smile.gif

My favorite was always GOING to Ticketmaster in person ... at a record shop no less ... asking for tickets for the Live show, and getting a confused clerk saying, "ALL the shows are live" lol.gif stupid jerks.

Hey Minty. Don't worry - we're completely insane but we have good intentions. wink.gif

ok...i have to tell you guys...i LOVED this ai performance, and i think it will be great for the band to gain exposure...i have been a HUGE fan since 'mental jewelry' came out back in 91...yes, im old...lol...i am ashamed to admit it, but i havent listened to live in a while...not just live, but ANY music...it used to be such a part of my life...but now, the only time i listen to the radio or a cd is when im in my car...i really LOVED chris daughtry, and i could tell he was influenced by ed from the moment i heard him sing...i cant imagine what it must have been like for chris to be singing on stage with ed and the rest of the band. im sure that six months ago, that would have been the furthest thing from his mind...about 4 years ago we moved into the house we're in now, and my cds just never got unpacked...after the performance, i was having a huge live craving...but, being that i live in texas and its hotter than poo here, i was just too lazy to go out and dig for them in a shed somewhere...lol..so, i went and repurchased all of live's old cds and a couple of new ones i didnt have...im so glad that the band decided to do that show...i think that they will gain new listeners who have never heard of them before, and, as with me, reignite the flame that they have for the band....i know this type of venue is quite different from what the band would normally do, but i think that via that perfomance, live might actually acquire the fan base they so deserve...as you can tell by the number under my name, im new to this sight, but i look forward to being here and sharing my thoughts and feelings about this wonderful band...eds lyrics are so powerful and poetic, i would argue that he is the best song writer in the history of song writing...lol...im so glad ive been turned back on to live...and i hope some of you, if you havent already, will listen to chris...he is a great singer, as well, and if he loves live, then he must be alright...lol
