QUOTE(zmanpga @ Sep 21 2012, 4:51 pm) *

show a little respect folk, especially those that got invite to York, we all are very thankful to the guys and The Thrill for that night, the spread, great show, Memphis, Kevin Martin, Chris, CCP. after party at White Rose, etc.. thumbsup.gif

good things take time

It's all good. They decided on labeling their fan base Freaks, so that's what they get. The good and the bad...

I only expect a EP/month once the new studio is up and running.

I love Live and CCP and have since I was about 7yrs, I'm psyched for the new music, I think its awesome they're making their own studio, but damn if this new trend of not being able to day anything negative about them is kinda annoying. They're slow at getting things happening, there's reasons for that I know, but if you can't see the bright side and poke some fun then you're just too serious and miserable I think. Yes Chad is a bigger boy, I don't think any of us really care? I don't, just more power behind his stomps! But its just a giggle, no one is being malicious.
The majority of us are all well and truly behind Live and CCP and hope Ed gets his, but it seems like there is some policing being done any time anyone had anything negative to say about CCP and that's not right, it's not fair to make people feel guilty for it an force praise out of them. They're human beings, they don't get everything right and we're human and naturally call them on it some times, I think people need to stop being so protective of them. Its not the same as the way Nick protects Ed but its on the same highway. Negative things are always going to be said, but they're being said with a hell of a lot of love behind them, I don't think anyone besides Nick has ever been malicious and nasty about CCP in any way here, I think we should cool it a bit on letting people speak their mind and have a bit of fun, blow off a little steam etc...

Enjoy the jousting. People hold their gripes to themselves normally. I did for years. My opinion is skewed of course.

I see your point, but people need to respect their personal lives as well. I hear a lot of people whining about how they don't do this and that, as if these three men owe them something.

True fans would be MUCH more true and supportive. For instance, I've not heard Bob, Chris, Aitkens(sorry, forgot your actual name), and a few others bitch and moan even ONCE about the website design, or it's slow emergence. Not heard them whine once about a lack of album info, or about being given some sort of sample or something. Not once about news updates and such....

People need to fucking relax on that shit much more than anything you've attributed to here. I may be one of those people that are a bit too overprotective of them, but I only speak my mind on the matter when I observe people acting like fucking children with a sense of selfish entitlement. Anything I've alluded to in this respect doesn't in any way express a sense of perfection in these three gentlemen.

I just look at these three guys and think that if I were them, I wouldn't want my "true and loyal fans" whing at every fucking turn. It's borderline ridiculous. I'm sure they'd appreciate it more if we just let them live their fucking lives and respect them for who and what they are. I know for fact that it is hurtful sometimes and I know for fact that these guys want nothing more than to give us what we want. But they also live the lives of men who unfortunately for us, don't simply live and breathe music. They need to look out for themselves, and more importantly, for the future of their children. The money isn't what it used to be, plain and simple. So they need to explore other options and that is exactly what they do as businessmen.

I's ok to be anxious, fuck, I'm just as anxious as the next guy. But I respect these guys enough to let them live their lives and gives us what they can, when they can. I'm not defending them like they're angels. But I will defend them when I see people acting like selfish children, acting up when they don't get what they want.

nice post. I know many don't understand what's going on, feel led down a path of broken promises......there has been a reason for some of it which will get rectified soon.

Live will move forward when they have a finished product and on their timeline. Many things to pick up, work on then pick up and work on the next thing. Will be more session at months end. The social media age has accelerated many to expect things ultra instantly. Things don't always work that way when there are many things going on. Luke covered much of it.

when it comes to us, you're gonna like it!!! thumbsup.gif

Yeah I def respect the guys enough to know that when they want to produce the music we'll love what we get, I got no probes being patient, where I see things differing is people who are expecting updates every step of the way and a new clip every week when they never promised they'd do that... Compared to them living up to their own word - church box, website, competition... The difference is whether they initiate the expectations or whether we do.. If we do then we gotta realise we march to their best, if they set the expectations then they should probably follow through with it for their own reputation, not so much for our benefit.

Anyone who actually bothers to post on a Live message board after this long is a true fan. It is beyond me how anyone could think otherwise. Some people enjoy being critical of the artists they love right along with discussing the positives. Personally I think that is healthier than just lapping up whatever is served, and this board (which the guys read) should provide a good sounding board for what their fans are interested in seeing happen. What's wrong with that?

Imagine the fallout if a band with a huge, rabid fan base (like Pearl Jam) were to promise an album of b-sides and a free b-side with their website launch, and then didn't deliver with no explanation. Those fanbases would go BONKERS. In Live land, we are the only ones who know or care about it, so that's pretty fortunate.
