Thanks for checking it out. Now I can save some money.

Why would they make this up?

I don't think they've made it up. It's just not authorised by the band or record label.

It's not made, up, and as dangum said could be just an unauthorized copy. I'm curious though if this really is a fake. OutToDry, who did you check with? The band? because it's not really in their control. Not doubting you, this just seemed to have a MusicOnVinyl catalog number, and they've pressed a number (legitimately) of classic 90s albums lately.

easy, buddy, I didn't mean any harm. Actually, I don't know who you check with, as I haven't really posted or followed the forums that much. It was a harmless question, but I'll leave it.

I've also checked - the label releasing this is MOV (Music on Vinyl) as stated earlier by ThrowgnCpr

Seems that it is legit and will be shipped mid-October. I've ordered myself the Copper colour and black vinyl editions. I can confirm that they are 14 track LP's and NOT re-masters but they appear to have go-ahead from Universal "without restriction" (whatever that means).

That is what I guessed. "without restriction" just means they can release all the album tracks, and that Universal doesn't need to approve tests. Licensing is usually a straightforward deal (i.e., if you have the money for the license, let's do it) but it's often hard to get a major label to agree. I bet since MOV has had several recent successful repress contracts with them, that it's a bit easier to get the deal.

The bummer about MOV is that their releases are usually much more expensive, probably a result of the higher major label licensing fees.

Where did you order from sh4rpz? Any indication if you secured a copper-colored variant?

Ordered off my local vinyl re-seller here in SA. He has a live database link to MOV and has secured me a coloured vinyl and a standard one when the 1000 copies have been exhausted.

He said that among the proposed releases for 2013 is TDTH for the EU. This will also have a limited number of coloured vinyl available upon release.

Very excited as I have been priced out of LIVE vinyl up until yesterday's find.

If it's MOV, it will be legit and will sound good. They don't do bootleg stuff. However, I'm skeptical until I see it on their site. There have been a lot of reported MOV releases that have never seen the light of day. Several retailers seem to list titles that MOV is trying to press. The Mad Season Above record comes to mind. MOV was going to press it, it appeared on many retail sites, but it never saw the light of day because they couldn't get the rights. Given the legal troubles with Live, I could see that happening here as well.

Seen the release confirmation details by MOV and they say it's audiophile 180gram vinyl. I agree, seeing (and hearing?) is believing - but as their database is already pre-shipping the numbers on what seems the most popular release on their pre-order catalog, I'm pretty convinced this one is finally happening.

Still, fingers crossed! rockin.gif

I just got a response from MOV. This was licensed for distribution only in Europe.
