While I actually like Chris's voice, I honestly didnt care for his solo album, and Unified Theory didn't grab me too much. Still I think his voice is a good fit for Live, and I've been optimistic that he's a great fit. I hadn't heard any of Everything is Energy before, but I just had a listen to Curve of the Earth on the myspace page. very decent! anyone know where I can get a copy of the album? $99 on amazon marketplace is ridonculous.

For me it's hard to tell. I'm not to concerned with him doing past songs - it is what it is. What I want to hear is how he sounds as he fronts new material for the band. Looking forward to giving the new stuff a spin.

Very valid point here and I think this is especially important.

I support LIVE's decision to move forward with CS and have been more than satisfied with the way he sounds on the older stuff - but for me, the most important thing now is how the new material sounds and just how much 'LIVE' spirit is in the words and melodies.

I also agree. My comments were mostly aimed at how he might influence the direction of future Live. I like what I hear on EIE, and I think there is a lot of potential. Also, I really don't care if I ever hear them play anything from V-SFBM ever again.

I also think there are a few people here who have already decided whether they will love or hate the music regardless. I'm not going to force myself to do either. I'll give it a listen and let the music take me wherever it leads.

Hopefully when the time comes we can actually discuss the actual music without being blasted for our opinion from either wing.

It all comes down to lyrics to me. TGF's lyrics weren't live. SFBM and Bop weren't either. I don't care if new live sounds just like SFBM I just want music that makes me think.

I only just read this thread, after a long break from Live, and voted for Chris. I think he's a pretty good singer. Can't wait to hear the new Live album!

I don't want EK to get back together with live and I'm not interested to see/hear him solo either.

Pokey, I'm not going to badger you or anything, but to hear a great Chris Shinn track check out "Keep On" by Unified Theory.

'Keep on"

At 3:00, an old picture of Chris with EK. I remember seeing it years ago, not knowing who Chris was.

During the MSNBC coverage of the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina last night, after Bill Clinton's speech, Chris Matthews had a segment outside in frton of a large crowd. I swear there was a guy who looked exactly like Chirs Shinn standing behind and to the right of Chris Matthews. Is Chris still in Nashville? It looked just like him.

It isn't a great hd video of it, but here is video. http://video.msnbc.msn.com/msnbc/48922760/

Nice find! It also led me to some rare Blind Melon b-sides, so thanks!

I like to close my eyes and pretend V - SFBM/Alive never existed. It helps ease the pain of being a Live fan for the past 10 years or so.
